I wonder if anybody ever got the chance to try this calculator model before? It's a CFX-9850G Plus but with an extra part at the top and the interesting part in the description is that it seems it can be connected to a TV and if you got an NTSC video recorder, you can even record the screen.

That looks really cool. Pretty useful for japanese teachers.

Here's a video:

There were two models with a PAL or NTSC module:
VI-9850GA PLUS (http://casio.ledudu.com/pockets.asp?type=327&lg=eng)
VI-9850GB PLUS (http://casio.ledudu.com/pockets.asp?type=328&lg=eng)

Wow it even supports standard video cables? That is really cool. If someone was to make games for the calculator it would also make much better screenshots than the real calc with a camera, because the emulators out there don't work anyway.

Which one is NTSC, btw? The Casio website lists the VI-9850GA as NTSC (Japan) but I am unsure if it's a mistake or not.

It may depend on where you buy it. As both base types (CFX-9850GA PLUS and CFX-9850GB PLUS) are not the same, I don't believe that the GA is only available with a NTSC module and the GB with a PAL module.

Yeah I saw one on Ebay and it looked like NTSC was written on it, even if it was a GA one. However, although the seller claims it turns ON, he says that it was not tested further and that it's for parts or repair, so I wasn't too sure, in case.
