TI Z80 / [BASIC] TI-Thrash (Color) (8x Calcs)
« on: September 02, 2014, 05:14:22 pm »
TI-Thrash (Color) is a homescreen arcade-style fighting game. It includes multiple characters, who beat up on a CPU. (By the way, it is possible to block counterattacks)
P.S.: Thanks to Imgur for glitching out and deleting all my beta screenshots! I hate you Imgur.

Here's my screenshot (V1.1):

And in color (2.0B):

The "jump" at the end was the Super Thrash attack. Also, if you see me use strange moves, that's because I implemented combos, and the two are called Uppercut and Jab.
There's a secret character ;) See if you can find it!

Spoiler For Changelog V1.1:
*Now, the 0 has a different Super Thrash attack
*Fixed/improved a few things

Spoiler For Changelog V2.1 (Color version):
*Optimized size/speed
*Fixed issue with blocking a counterattack timing

TI Z80 / [TI-Basic] "Wrench" Utility Pack-(8x series)
« on: September 01, 2014, 07:31:04 pm »
I have started work on a utility pack for oncalc programmers such as myself. It can run on any 8x series calculator, including the CSE (as usual, with me). Those of you on #omnimaga around the time of this post have seen the GIF of the Token Search utility. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them!

Spoiler For Info:
-Token Search has you type in the token you wish to copy, and it searches for a command in it's database. These commands include ones only found in the Catalog (sub(, length(, etc) and some commands that require a lot of menuing (or, xor, list symbol, etc)

-Routine Search (called "Routines") lets you look through a list of routines (movement, list to string, etc) and copy them to Str2.

-getKey Codes waits until you press a key, and returns its getKey value. You can then use it again or quit. (Thanks to princetonlion for this idea!)

-Text Centerer has you input the number of letters (characters, really) and if the calc you're working with is a CSE or monochrome (for figuring out compatibility). It outputs the X value that your Output( command should be set to.

Spoiler For To Do:
*Add more utilities

TI Z80 / Engine - A BASIC Todo List: Drive Your Goals
« on: August 04, 2014, 03:24:10 pm »
In pure BASIC (since Axe is incompatible with the CSE, and I can't find a way to do Asm), I am creating a todo list. This is compatible with monochrome calcs that use .8xp files, meaning the 83+ to the 84+CSE.
It has a monetary system, where you can get points by completing tasks. Use these points, called Sparks, in the Motor Shop to buy customization options, minigames, and more!

Edit: Version 1.2.5 is out.
Spoiler For Changelog 1.2.5:
Changelog 1.2.5:
*Actually fixed bug that quits when adding a list item
*Fixed bug that doesn't allow items to be checked off
*Small tweaks

TI Z80 / Simplified Text Engine?
« on: August 04, 2014, 03:15:13 pm »
I was working on a to-do list project I had planned, and working on creating a text engine for it. I may have simplified JWinslow's engine (the only one I know of, and can get my hands on) to a very small program. The program uses L1 to display the letter. To display your own text, simply input a number corresponding to a letter (A being 1, Z being 26, etc).

When you have text that's longer than the screen, it will wrap. There's one downside, and that is that you can't have any number in L1 be larger than 26.
Here's a working prototype. There is no program protection, so you have to make sure the numbers are within the parameters.

Edit 6:05 PM Server Time: Updated program

TI Z80 / [Axe] Source Seekers Battle (TI-83+ & up)
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:35:45 pm »
Thanks to Streetwalrus, I have decided to remake Source Seekers in Axe. There will be many improvements and new features, so be sure to check it out! Some or most of these additions will also make their way into the BASIC version as well!
(Just so that everyone gets it... Battle Axe, since it's in Axe and it's called "Battle")
Regarding the platform range, it will stay 83+ unless I need a BASIC command only on the 84.

Spoiler For Planned Features:
Planned Features:

Faster Speed & Optimized Engine
The engine will be super smooth and will take up less space both on lines and in bytes. Source Seekers Battle will include much faster gameplay, which the original wasn't capable of!

Configurable Keys
Now, you will be able to bind any action to any key you want! Do you want to shoot your bow with "On"? Well, that can't happen. How about "5" instead?

More Levels and Secrets
More levels will be added after the main storyline, and there will be tons of secrets to discover. There may even be a tournament system after you beat the game!

More Overall Content
More enemies, puzzles, abilities, weapons and more coming soon! Enjoy everything from fighting spiky enemies to shooting a bow to teleporting around the screen!

Multiple Save Files
Now, you can save multiple games! Instead of starting over and losing your gear, why not just make a new save? If you make a new save, how are you to tell them apart?

Character Customization
That's right! Ever wanted to be a Pi symbol? Now you can! Ever wanted everyone to call you "Shorty"? No, me neither. But, you can do it anyway, now that you can name your characters and equip them with the finest gear and armor you've ever seen!

Larger Map Screens
Tired of the confines of one screen per level? Now, there can be multiple screens per level!

Site Feedback and Questions / Turning Off Newsletters, Etc. Is Broken
« on: July 03, 2014, 01:41:10 pm »
I'm notified to so many topics, that my email won't stop notifying me ever, and so I turned off Receiving Newsletters, Etc. (under "Notifications" in Account Settings) a long time ago.
However, I just checked right now, and I have it turned off, yet I am still receiving new emails from Omnimaga.

TI Z80 / 80Forum - Oncalc Forum (TI-83 Family)
« on: June 16, 2014, 09:19:49 pm »
Yeah, I can hardly sit down after making anything. I got a somewhat random idea to make an oncalc forum, with profiles and random post generators and everything. No screenshot yet, since I just started :P

When it's all done, hopefully you'll feel in the presence of real Internet people on the comfort of your calculator!

Mabe, every so often, there could be a news update on the completed projects of the month/week?
That way, game developers could get more traffic and feel accomplished, while the community could find out about (potentially) great projects.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm either inserting an image, quoting, or using the "code" block, and it randomly sets the text font to "Verdana" and the size to 78%. Does anyone know what's causing this, or am I just accidentally tripping those things off as I click away?

TI Z80 / [Pure BASIC] Source Seekers (TI-83 & up)
« on: May 09, 2014, 09:43:28 pm »
I got a brilliant idea to create a Dungeon Looter/Collection game, for the TI-83(+) and TI-84(+/CSE) calculators. It uses the graphscreen without color and the homescreen for the actual movement. The screenshots are taken on a TI-84+CSE, and although they show color, it doesn't when running it on a TI-83/84(+). A TI-82 port is coming soon, but the program SRCESEEK is already TI-82 compatible, so it could be soon. Play it for yourself today!
The entire game is 10695 bytes, though, so make sure you have the space before downloading! Run SRCESEEK to start the game, but don't run (theta)DEF.
Or, if you have MirageOS, Source Seekers can run from there under the title SRCESEEK. Just make sure (theta)DEF is unarchived (at least, I think it needs to be).

Spoiler For Update July 31 2014:
Finally! THE GAME is done!
I also created a Wiki, with many informative pages, a development blog, and a Forum: http://source-seekers.wikia.com/wiki/Source_Seekers_Wiki
Spoiler For Version Info:
If you download version 1.3, you can skip the opening sequence (which takes a lot of time) by hitting anything other than Enter or On on the first screen "A TILDA^3 PRODUCTIONS" after running SRCESEEK. I do not recommend so if you haven't seen it, because it's pretty cool and is my logo :)
Spoiler For Developer Blog:
May 23 2014:
Put on your robes and grab your broom, we've got company! Guess "which"? Something's firing electricity![/font]

The wizard enemy fires bolts of lightning on a single plane or at the player. If you are hit, you lose a life. There is some strategy to defeating one, so keep on your toes!

May 24 2014:
Get ready to storm the Tower, and make sure to have some Defense!

The tower enemy fires cannonballs that instantly kill the player. They fire vertically, as opposed to wizards, who fire horizontally. You can't kill the tower, unlike the wizard, however; they are just stage hazards.

May 25 2014:
Study up, now you're a wizard! Using ALPHA, you can fire Arcane bolts! They can toggle switch targets, defeat enemies, and more!

May 26 2014:
In between levels 5 and 6, you walk on the bridge to the castle! Even spookier, there's no one to fight or even stand in your way. You can even see the door to the bridge from the main part of level 6!

May 27 2014:
So, are you ready for this game? It's fast, fun and packed with content!
Any, feature time. Don't worry if you lose a life, there's a 1-UP to save you! Near the magic bottle, you can gain another life!

May 28 2014:
Are you tired of all these single-enemy levels? Fear not, level 9 is here!
Level 9 has two enemies, both of which can kill you. If you kill both of them, you get your reward!

May 29 2014:
As you approach the boss door, you see two familiar enemies. That's right, the two most dangerous enemies have tag-teamed to make sure you don't get in! The Tower and Wizard enemies bar your way, and will you be able to maneuver between cannon shots and electricity bolts and get the boss key?

June 4 2014:
The game is nearing completion; the dev team is at the final stretch! We're nearing the release date, and a definitive date will be coming soon!
Sorry for not updating the Dev Blog, I have been very busy with both this game and my schedule.

*Optimizations

TI Z80 / Desktop Simulator
« on: May 09, 2014, 05:28:18 pm »
This is a computer simulator for the TI-84+ and up. It is currently under development, so some of the features may be buggy. Feel free to suggest something to me, I will be glad to listen!
The features implemented are:
1. Commands
2. "Browser" (operates locally)
3. Remember Me option
4. Login, with multiple profiles and permissions for each (Admin username: "ADMIN" / Password: "MASTER" and User username: "USER" / Password: "PW")

The .zip file does include documentation as well as the program. If you experience any problems, please notify me immediately!

TI Z80 / Project: OuterAI
« on: May 09, 2014, 04:01:31 pm »
I'm trying to create an advanced Artificial Intelligence on my own in pure TI-Basic. I'm still not sure what it should be for. I have an idea of how it will broadly work, I just need some context around the AI. I'm not sure how it should respond to what. Suggestions for what it would be able to do are much appreciated!

TI Z80 / Terrors (TI-84+)
« on: May 09, 2014, 02:01:35 pm »
Previously titled "TextAdventure", this game is a semi-text based RPG in which you star as yourself, avenging your burnt-down house. Go after and take vengeance on the Terrors! The screenshots show this game playing on a TI-84+CSE, but it can also work on a TI-83+ and up. Documentation is included in the attachment. If you have a suggestion, please share it with me! There's not much I can do with this game except for fix bugs, so I appreciate any motivation!
