so I have got TilP2 to recognize my calculator, I can see the files and stuff on it after installing the driver, but when I give it the OS update of nlauch.tno, it says Invalid packet. Cause: a transmission error. Now TI Computer Link will not recognize the calculator.
~ I have since given up. The calc with be returned and a CAS bought from Ebay for $60; thanks anway

not for me though, for some reason. I have the same version. I am trying to use TiLP now; but this process is a huge pain now; thanks for the help Lionel

so I now have phoenix.tns on my calc, under nlaunch. But now when I send it the nlaunch.tno, it says that the OS is corrupt and will not install on my calculator. Retrying multiple times does not help

You have to change the ".tnc" extension to ".tns" and this is only possible if you can see the ".tnc". If you can't see it, you have to change the settings of your computer first (uncheck "Hide known file extensions" in the options if you're on Windows).
Right now you probably have a file named "phoenix.tns.tnc" but only see the first part of the name.

well, regardless if I name the TNC file as"phoenix.tns" the calculator does not see it as a .tns. The TI-nspire touchpad will only accept (I think) TNO OS files, so maybe I will try renaming it as .tno

I tried sending the OS as a document, but it won't let me. It says that it's the wrong file type for the handheld. The readme says that I need to have nsNandMgr on it first?

I have downloaded the file, converted it with TNOC, but Ti-nspire Computer Link will not let me put the OS file on my calculator because it says that it's the wrong handheld type for the file; also that TI-planet will not translate any pages into English and it's confusing to navigate

@Levak ; not really a good idea? because I am a poor college student who really needs his calculator to do laplace and inverse laplace for exams, which cannot be done without this OS. I will try it anyway before having to pay an extra $80+ just to run this simple program. Hopefully it will not mess up the calculator before I return it if this does not work

I am upgraded to the latest OS on my TI-nspire. If I return this calc to Amazon and just buy a CAS at Walmart (although I think Amazon still might have the best price: $65 last time I checked), will it matter that I have already used the codes and ordered the free TI-84 pad, etc?

OK, thanks, but I can't seem to get any programs to run on it. Surely some of them were written for just the TI -nspire when the CAS and CX had not come out yet. I think I am missing some simple steps here. To run a .tns file, you click on Home, then My Documents, MyLib, click on the program file you want, tab over to the part with the equations and just hit enter on one of them? it will tell me "Variable is not defined"

how about the most important one: cmplxanlys.zip ; because as far as I know, the TI-nspire cannot do laplace and inverse laplace: http://www.ticalc.org/pub/nspire/basic/math/it says that it's for the CAS, but I have the regular version; should this matter?
