Introduce Yourself! / Still alive
« on: February 13, 2010, 12:38:29 pm »
Hey everyone, its Loki. I just wanted to say that I'm still alive, and that things are going better for me. I have a job and my own apartment, and here soon I'll have my own internet connection (i'm at a public library right now). And, who knows? Maybe I'll buy a calc and take up programming again. =)

I found a TI-83+ outside school and took it home. While playing with it, I saw PRGM. Upon pressing it, went to NEW and figured it was going to let me make something nifty. typed in a name ("A"), and entered the editor. Clicked PRGM again and discovered commands. Went to Disp and hit enter, then typed in HI after it, exited, found the program to run it, but found it didnt work. So I got online and figured out why, and went from there.

Oh, wow, thanks! Yeah, I picked up Code::blocks a couple weeks ago googling for compilers.

Regrettably I haven't a lot of online time, but HOURS of offline time, so I should be posting some projects and any questions I can't figure out whenever i can. Probably from my phone. lol.

=D Thanks a lot BFR and simplethinker ^_^.

Can anyone point me in the right place to get started with this? DirectX, OpenGL, or any other alternatives welcome.

I don't have any definate plans for this, but I would like to have my options open. I figure it'd be best to start off with 2d and move on up to 3d and stuff. Any way, any links or maybe even a mentor of sorts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome once more to Omnimaga. Here you'll find a wide variety of people and games, and you're free to roam about as you please. Just don't mind the red pool leaking from the janitor's closet. Thats umm...paint. Cos we're remodeling in there.

$600 is the going rate around here for an apartment about that size. But I fortunately live with two other people. And one has a nice job at Sprint, where hopefully soon I'll get a job ^_^;

Yeah I had an RPG going for a while. Had a fair chunk of it done, too. Sadly in all the excitement of being homeless and moving from place to place, I lost my 84+SE and all my work. Not only of the rpg but several small games and everything =/. Anyway yeah I'm back online and in a stable environment. I'm currently working on learning C++ and getting my graphics design cert, and getting barely nowheres.

@Art_of_camelot: if you are interested, draw up some stuff and send them to me =)

@everyone else: I think we could pull off a communal house Omnimaga webcomic. Or you know, Omnimaga could be a shop of sorts. Like a comic-card-game-rpg shop. I dunno, throwing out ideas.

Not a bad idea. A community comic. Or, we could have the Omnimaga webcomic! Featuring all the members of Omnimaga as characters, written and drawn by the comunity!

It would be awesome though. And for the record, my full birth name is Jackie (call me that i keel you.) Lee Ogle, but even in rl i go by Loki, although my mother refuses to call me that. She'll call me Jack, though. Joseph Marin is one of my pennames and reoccurring character name ^_^. Soon enough I'll have internet constantly and unconditionally, so joining on teamspeak or skype would be feasible. Also, if someone did take the effort to find me in rl cos I gave my name on t3h intarwebs, i dont think i'd mind too much. i'm lonely here! ^_^

I was thinking about updating once or twice a week to allow for busy schedules. Also, thees no way in hell i can write a new comic more often than that.
