you could be able to get nwriter to edit the ndless.cfg so you can easily change the File associations of ndless3 on-calc.

You already can do that. ndless.cfg.tns is nothing but a plaintextfile, therefore open it with nwriter change it, save it and you should be fine.

Note that I don't know how ndless handles this file, may be that you have to reboot your calculator for changes to take effect.
Also the default ndless.cfg.tns seems to use windows EOL while nwriter uses Unix style ones. This again may or may not be problematic depending on how ndless parses this file, in the worst case scenario you have to fix the EOLs via hexadecimal-input.

This should work on a regular ( not CX ) Nspire, with ndless3,
in case you meant a CX compatible version then you have to be a bit patient,
I'm right now working on that but since I'm in my last school year.
Therefore my free time is limited, but as said some post ago, I expect to have the final release done before summer.

(note that the attached copy has the same bugs as the last release, as I'm developing in a different tree since then, which has more features but is significantly more unstable...)

Well I know C and C++ are sort of implemented together but I dont think I can cram another programming language in my head...
*Not wanting too xD*
C++ Is a language I know very well and dont want to stray away from D:
C++ is a direct superset of C, meaning that you could compile every C code with a C++ compiler. ( Actually you may have to add 'using namespace std ;' in some cases)
So if you ever have to write C instead of C++, all you have to learn what you can't do any more with a single keyword etc.

It also happens that I know the feeling of having a preferred language, and not wanting to write in any other myself.
But I have observed on myself that simply by knowing other languages (not necessarily using them), my skill in my favoured language has improved significantly.
So if you wouldn't mind an advise, learn some preferably completely different languages, and if for no other reason than to improve your C++.

I would gladly add a default .txt file association for it if you are planning to support it.
I kind of expect from myself to have "1.0" out before summertime, then I think I'll come back to your generous offer :).

Thx, but why C++? you can't really do more in it than in C, it's just structured otherwise and has a few shortcuts, that's all.

While I'm writing here something I may as well tell that I'm still working on it; despite not having released a new version for months.

... is not able to install CX-OS, and TILP isn't as well.
That's strange, because I used Tilp to update my CX to 3.1 and to install ndless...
maybe you have an older version of Tilp which can't? Mine is 1.16.

There is no big secret to remove a battery, basically the hardest part is to get your fingernails under the "plug-piece", after that you have only to pull carefully.

finally... ;)
great job Extended and co :)
I'll have to post-phone extensive testing for the weekend though... not much time right now cause of school :(

General Calculator Help / Re: Disable Press-To-Test
« on: December 12, 2011, 12:48:34 pm »
Then someone should figure out how to disable it over USB with another computer. You can't exactly smuggle a laptop into a test, so it wouldn't allow people to cheat.
That doesn't need to get figured out  ;)

To disable Press-to-Test mode through a computer:
If you choose to disable Press-to-Test mode through a computer, you must have TI-Nspire Computer Link software installed on your system. After installing TI-Nspire Computer Link:
  • Create a folder on your computer called “Press-to-Test”
  • In that folder, place an empty tns document called “Exit Test Mode”. This file is the only file that should be in that folder. Note: folder and file names are case-sensitive
  • Send this file to your connected device and you will exit Press-to-Test mode

Ok, I posted a German translation. But I'd prefer to have first some feedback from other german speakers before they get "official".

So ich habe die neuen Regeln übersetzt, würde es aber vorziehen wenn Andere sie noch mal überprüfen.

EDIT: Habe Sorunome Korrekturen appliziert.

Once PTT is properly enabled there is no way to exit it without another nspire or computer right now.
You could make your calc seem to be in press to test, as in faking the led and several other signs on the display,
depends on what you want exactly...

nDoom / Re: nDoom - BETA!
« on: December 08, 2011, 04:26:14 pm »
As Mrakoplaz has not been here for months, I wanted to modify nDoom for CX compatibility.

A part of the code that has to be modified for CX video compatibility is in i_video.c.

I first tried to recompile the unmodified sources this evening with Ndless 3.1 alpha... and unfortunately it didn't work. :(

...

Some specific yagarto build might be needed... What do you think about that?

I sent Mrakoplaz a link to this after I had seen this post, this is his reply:

I forgot my omni password and most of my dev files after a hard drive crash (and other annoying things that happened), but I think I still remember how to fix this problem:
KEEP the -nostdlib parameter, but ADD "-lc -lgcc" to the linker batch file (used to be nspire-ld back in my days, not sure if it still is). Should fix it, unless things have changed, or my memory's gone bad. Post it on the forum either way. Hoping it helps ^_^
