General Calculator Help / Re: Undiagnosed Ndless 3.6 System Error
« on: December 04, 2014, 07:47:28 pm »
I'm using hyper terminal to attempt to reflash an os/boot2. When I get to this point (text below) the device does not respond and the re-flashing is unsuccessful. What am I doing wrong?
As mentioned before I have an nspire cx version j. It came with os 3.2 and I successfully upgraded to os 3.6 before this system error happened when I opened a folder after successfully installing ndless.

General Calculator Help / Undiagnosed Ndless 3.6 System Error
« on: November 09, 2014, 01:50:17 pm »

I have run into an unresolved situation. I have an Nspire cx with serial number on the back P-0413J. It had the CX OS version 3.2.something. I updated to CX OS 3.6 to install Ndless version 3.6 on it. Installation of both successful, everything went smoothly as expected.

Then I decided to go into "My Documents" menu on the calculator and check out the ndless folder to see what it contained. I selected a sub folder to open under ndless, I can no longer remember which one and immediately after pressing enter the device turned off. Upon restart I get a "System Error" message at the halfway point of booting with the little caution triangle in the corner. Oops!

So far, I haven't been able to figure out if this is an "unrecoverable error". But this is what I have done, I have done everything on the ndless  troubleshooting page. (http://ndlessly.wordpress.com/ndless-troubleshooting/)
I tried the The calculator freezes on boot up with a black and white screen steps but was not able to locate a gpio error. I tried the The TI-Nspire falls into a reboot loop as well.(doc+enter+ee on) It doesn't seem any of those commands are actually taking place, the progress bar for them never moves an inch before prompting reset and nothing changes after I try them.

Some people mention it might be a NAND error, and I haven't completely been able to rule that out but the SDRAM/NAND tests in the diagnostic menu have claimed they pass.

I have searched tirelessly with no resolution. I'm not sure  if this is a problem anyone else has run into after installing ndless 3.6.
Really, I am attributing what happened to opening the folder with ndless stuff in it, but that may not be the issue at all. I know for sure that I just selected a folder, I didn't choose to delete a folder or anything like that.

What do you think is going on? Is there anything you can recommend?
If anyone else has run into this situation, wether they have resolved it or not, please let me know.

Additional information: I was following this tutorial on installing CAS on non-CAS. I only did step one, installing ndless(the swichpack contained ndless 3.6). Disclaimer: I was not going to use nlaunchy as I was aware of it not working on J and above calculators. Anyway, I didn't get anywhere near that step. I only installed ndless successfully.
