I know it's not related to calcs, but a tutorial on the Win32 API would be greatly appreciated. I've been getting in a bit over my head with it.

This guy probably has what you're looking for.
A couple of weeks ago I looked for that book at our local library, and they didn't have it. :(

Last week it dropped to $189.99 at Wal Mart over here O.O, but now it's back to $249.99. Apparently it's supposed to drop to $169.99 for real soon, but before that happens they were offering some free NES games and GBA games exclusive to people buying it before the price drop or something.
I heard about the price drop too. :)
I think I might just get myself one, though I don't play video games too often.

Sorry leafiness0but I get invalid token I anarchive all and still wont lead me to where the error is but Iam still trying
Yeah, that was a problem with Axe, not my source code. I didn't have time to update my source code for 1.0.0. :/

TLOZ do you mind compiling AXLE for Ion? I can't use DoorsCS anymore :/
I can't get to my calculator at the moment, but the source code is included with the .zip file. All you need to do is include crabcake and it can be compiled to work with whatever shell you choose. I compiled it for DoorsCS because I figured Doors needed more exclusives to compete with other shells, and I truly believe that it is a superior shell.

I tried this game for the contest. Very good game, I was confused by all the doors but the graphics and the gameplay are great!
Thanks. It's the point of the game to be confusing... I like really hard games (as you can probably guess I am a fan of a lot of the old NES platformers :)).

But seriously, so what if someone likes them? :) we're all allowed to have our child-like interests :P this won't turn into anything bad as long as no one tries to take it seriously, which a few people are starting to :/
Believe me, I've seen what this has done to other sites. It's not pretty. Also, keep in mind that everybody who has posted in this thread is a male.

I can't tell weather or not this is sarcasm...
I've been to many sites that have been ruined by ponies. It may be funny at first, but there are people who legitimately like them. It's scary. I've seen grown men going crazy over a show made for 7-year-old girls. Please listen to SirCmpwn on this one.
Spoiler For Spoiler:
Also keep /b/ off of ominimaga. It's just as bad as ponies and is the least mature board on an already immature site.

Official Contest / Re: Reviewing Panel
« on: July 17, 2011, 06:39:51 pm »
I think that it would be nice to have more people reviewing over the games. That way, even if it isn't official, there can be more feedback to use to improve.

I wanted AXLE to be hard, but maybe I should've put in a continue now that I think about it...

Still stuck in some endless loop in the first level (that room where you fall down through a bunch of coins, there's two doors (and only two) at the bottom, both of which redirect to previous rooms) :/
There is a secret exit. Remember, nowhere in the level is off limits. Try jumping along walls.  ;)

AXLE
Graphically, it's great.  The speed is great for a smooth scrolling tilemapper, and the game is very stable.  It works extremely well.  On the other hand, the actual gameplay seems to me as a bit shallow.  There isn't much in the way of levels, and I can't seem to discover how to beat level 1 (not for lack of skill, but for lack of knowledge in discovering when the end has been reached).  5/10
I thought that it was pretty clear when the end had been reached. The room has only one door and it's in the dead center.
...also, what would you recommend in terms of level design? ??? I've got four different levels with different tilesets for each and over 9000 (literally) bytes of level data.
