Miscellaneous / Re: Post your desktop

Path Finder! \o/ A bit surprised you use Safari. :) Also, are you running a skinned Dock?

Yeah, I love Path Finder, and I'm excited for version 7, since that's supposed to bring better Dropbox integration.

Yeah, I use Safari mainly because it's noticeably more battery efficient than Chrome, and I want to crank as much battery as I can out of my MBP. Dat 17" screen sucks a lot of power. ;) Also because I use an iPhone and iPad, so the syncing benefits are obvious.

Nope, standard Mavericks side dock. Just bumped it to the bottom because it just feels right sitting it in the corner for some reason. :P

I like, but a little too bright for my tastes so I would probably not use it personally. :P

It's brighter than what I usually use, but I liked it a lot on my phone, so I thought I'd give it a try here too. :P

If aliens knew how to use the internet and how to upload video's to youtube they probably already know how to communicate with us. They won't have to resort to using these strange video's.

But maybe they're doing it this way so that only the humans smart enough to figure it out will be able to initiate communication, i.e. try and weed out some of the idiots initially.

Miscellaneous / Re: What is your Bacon number?

So I think I've also got a Bacon number of 2. I was an extra in the movie Tower Heist, along with some of my Boy Scout troop. (Although you'd barely see us in the shot, since we're right on the edge.) And Casey Affleck, one of the lead actors for the movie, has a Bacon number of 1, according to the oracle.

I'm so hyped for this, because Sapphire was the first Pokemon I ever owned, and so I really love Hoenn.

Here's to hoping we get a Mega-Sceptile!

Miscellaneous / Re: What is your nickname ?
« on: April 28, 2014, 06:32:45 pm »
My nickname comes from when I was back in middle school and just starting to program for calculators. I wanted a cool-sounding name to put on my programs, and the first word I came up with that I loved was Finale. Then I initially slapped an 83 on the end, since the 83+ was the only calculator I had at the time. Sometime around when I got my 84+ I changed the 83 to a TI, and then sometime after that, I joined UTI as FinaleTI. And I just kinda stuck with the name since.

Haha, that might actually be kinda fun to attempt down the line. At the very least, it'd give me an excuse to play with SpriteKit and some of the other more game related things in iOS.

Yeah, I didn't intend to disappear like that last time, not quite sure why I did, actually. I do plan to try and stick around this time, even if I'm not as active as I used to be.

I might dabble in Android development down the line, but right now I'm looking at iOS/OSX development, which is why I'm learning Objective-C.

I'm not new here, but it's been a while since I last was active, because of life and school and stuff, so I just figured I'd post here to say I'm back and I'm gonna try to be more active.

I'm afraid I haven't done any calc programming in a while, so none of my projects have been updated since last I posted... and I'm not sure when or if they will be.

I'm working on learning Objective-C right now, and once I get a handle on that, I might start revisiting some of my projects. I'd really like to make Nostalgia eventually, though the platform might change to something other than calculators down the line.

Anyways, sorry for kinda dropping off the map for a while. I hope to get back into the swing of things here, even if I'm doing less calc programming than I used to.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Ys RPG series
« on: February 25, 2013, 04:28:58 am »
Oh, wow. That is pretty odd. I never noticed that either, though I haven't really played too many Metroid games to be fair.

Tangentially related, I keep forgetting to hunt down a copy of the PSP remake of Ys III, and the first sound clip reminded me I should do that. :P

Hmm, perhaps I should try to make an entry, just to ease back into calc programming, since it's been a while since I've done anything serious.

Huzzah! Illusiat 11 is one of my favorite calculator games, and I've always wanted to try Kin Master Quest, and now I can!

Glad to see you back. What caused you to go away for a while by the way? Did you just quit calc stuff and lose interest in forums, too much (the) games or just too busy? D:
I was a bit busy and distracted by life and college. I haven't quit calc stuff, though it's no longer as big as it was to me in high school. It's still quite important to me though, and I hope to stay interested in it for a while to come.
