Sorry again for overwriting your post :(sad.gif (this is the only disadvantage of having full moderator control on a forum  :dang:banghead.gif )
you were saying that Output( on the 89 didnt have word wrap in your post right? I guess it would be possible then to update the scrolling line per line but maybe it would not be fast enough, but it doesnt hurt to try. Still the 89 has a big diplay and nice sprite libs (as well as C/ETP studio/GFA BASIC programming language) so I guess its better on those calc to use the graph screen instead of the homescreen

Yea, the 89 is pretty forgiving about large programs. There is a limit of approximately 64KB per individual var I think. :Dbiggrin.gif

One thing I am wondering about the 89 is if its possible to run archived program without any ASM libraries? Because I saw many old BASIC games running from archive memory (slower of course). %)rolleyes2.gif On the 83 I know it requires ASM libraries like Flash Gordon and Codex

yeah, 83+. On the home screen you can have scrolling because the Output( function has word-wrap, and its pure BASIC. Here is a game I made that use it (the screenshot is from a old version so it differ a bit from the last one featured at ticalc.org)

when you reach the edge of the screen it scrolls to the next screen  :)smile.gif

sound cool, :)smile.gif how the graphics will look like? Will it be like T14, on graph screen, text based or grayscale?

sound interesting. The way I did my events on my games was that if for example the first element of list 1 was lower than 1, it did something, then increased the variable by 1, and later in the game when you go at the same place again if the variable is higher than 6 (assuming you hitted a switch somewhere) it will change a number in the matrix, displaying a different tile allowing you to walk here

yeah I think I should do that, they werent much progress about the game, just info but I think it would be a good idea to move them here because not everyone will read the old news item (especially with 3 news articles a day)

btw I'm about to reach the 100th newsitem with the old ones included  :woot:woot.gif

thanks for the compliments mjenkins86, I wish I had a 89 I could make cool games, no memory restrictions, and when MLC 68k developpement will start I could make very nice stuff, I think there was also ETP BASIC studio and GFA basic which loked nice, I speak french so I can understand the tutorial very well. :)smile.gif

yeah thats qute a pb, on the 83+ we actually display a very huge sprite (96x62) using the XOR logic using Omnicalc, which have black areas that invert checkered patterns  quickly (Omniccalc is very fast because its a flash app) to create 3-level grayscale effect.

EDIT: this guide show how I make my sprites: http://omnimaga.earthforge.com/basic_grey.zip I havent updated it in a long while though it still use Omnicalc 1.23  :Dbiggrin.gif
