News / New Site Issue Tracker
« on: January 28, 2016, 02:02:51 pm »
I've quietly update the issue/bug/request links to point to

All our issues are now publicly available there. Feel free to open new ones, or prod old ones for more information on them. I've only imported the open issues we have and ignored any old history.

Web Programming and Design / SMF Mobile
« on: January 19, 2016, 10:07:15 pm »
So I've been messing around with making an alternative mobile solution to tapatalk.
It's completely web based and uses a bunch of web technologies that are fairly new or underused.

It's almost available for a closed alpha, but it's a long way to being ready for public use. I'm going to have to do some better penetration testing on my API server as well as some load testing on the application server before I make it open to an alpha audience.

Currently the only browser that fully supports the javascript features I'm using is Firefox Nightly. I'm expecting Chrome to catch up fairly quickly as the biggest stumbling block is just disabled by default in their beta builds (I haven't had any luck actually getting it enabled though).

A list of some of the technologies I'm using:
Proxy, Object.defineProperty, Websockets, Push API, Notifications API, Service Worker API, Juju, and Node.js

Hey everybody, I've been having fun with a new implementation of statsgraph for everybody!
Some interesting graphs:

A re-implementation of the original timeline:

I'll post updates here when I add new features.

News / https by default

Omnimaga is now loading in https by default! Have fun using the site with some added security due to cloudflare's universal SSL
If you notice anything failing to load that you think should be loading, let us know with and we'll look into it.

News / Short bit of downtime
« on: November 17, 2014, 06:47:17 pm »
There will be a little bit of downtime tonight as I reboot the VPS and perform some maintenance on the database. I don't expect it to last longer then an hour at most. Keep an eye on twitter or IRC during the downtime for information on if the downtime will take longer then expected or not.

EDIT: Downtime over

News / Migration Delayed
« on: November 08, 2014, 02:59:42 pm »
Due to some unforeseen circumstances with our provider. The migration will be delayed until further notice. I am expecting to get a reply from their sales department on Monday and will update everybody on when the migration will take place as soon as I do.

News / Upcoming downtime
« on: November 05, 2014, 04:47:13 pm »
The servers/sites will be read only, and down for an unknown period this Saturday. We will be migrating everything over to new servers. Keep an eye on twitter during this time to know what is happening. The migrations will be staggered so that there will always be IRC access on Omninet. During this time I would suggest using to keep from having to switch servers when they are brought offline though.

News / Site/IRC issues
« on: October 22, 2014, 01:44:50 pm »
In case you haven't noticed, we've had some unplanned downtime for all of Eeems' domains and for some of the IRC servers. The issue is with the platform that our host is using and they have been looking into the issue since  Oct 21, 2014 11:41 AM MST and have been unable to find a solution as of yet. For now IRC has been rerouted to exclude the servers that are down but nothing can be done about the sites that are down.
Keep an eye on for updates on the current status, and if you haven't yet, you should follow Omnimaga's twitter account.

News / Updates and planned downtime
« on: August 18, 2014, 06:37:44 pm »
Omninet has had a large amount of the official channels renamed. Use the IRC page to see what the current standard is for naming channels (

To continue on this, there will be some downtime tonight, possibly up to two hours while Eeems runs some updates to the servers. After the updates are done, there may be some interruption to services as configuration files are updated to work with the new version. Keep an eye on Twitter or IRC to see what the current status on the upgrade is.
