TI-Nspire / Re: z80e for Nspire
« on: November 05, 2015, 12:36:39 pm »
Since z80e can run the TI-OS now, I plan to including actual Nspire support in the already-existing z80e codebase. I don't know how hard it will be, I didn't give it much thought yet. Also, this might or might not happen before a long time, since I am extremely busy with final exams and contests coming up in a few months.

Heaviest of bumps !

I finally found motivation to work on nKaruga again (thank Ivoah and gameblabla for this). There will be some changes though.

I will be porting nKaruga to PC, as a tribute to/demake of Ikaruga. I will be keeping n2DLib as a layer of abstration on top of SDL 1.2, so if any of you guys want to port it back to n2DLib itself when I'm 100% done with the game, it should take you around 1 minute :P
I won't port it to PC just now, I'll probably do it when I'll be done with level 2 (as a reminder, introduction 1, level 1, boss 1 and introduction 2 are fully done and playable). I want to have a completely playable second level and a fightable (English ?) second boss before any porting attempt takes place.

Which means, I'll need more sprites ! Again, yes :P If anyone wants to help with that, once again, feel free to tell me.

tl;dr : I'm back on this, I will finish level 2 and then port it to PC. Also, I need more sprites.

Bump,

I did make new music since the last update, but I actually didn't post about it. I recommend you just check out my SoundCloud again to be up to date : https://www.soundcloud.com/matrefeytontias - also, I finally did my own original song \o/

So actually there's a guitar contest in France right now, and I need maximal support (read : as many likes as possible), so to anyone who wants to help me, go watch that vid and like that post : https://www.facebook.com/groups/VMSF.GUITAR.CONTEST.2015/permalink/1876578959234350/

Thanks by advance :D

TI-Nspire / Re: nGL - a fast (enough) 3D engine for the nspire
« on: May 16, 2015, 06:41:58 pm »
Yeah well people wouldn't stop talking shit about how n2DLib was slower than nGL even though not a single test was ever made. I'm very glad to notice the exact same sentence again, "it's probably faster (though never tested)". You optimized it ? Oh yeah cool, so did pierrotdu18, Hayleia and I. So if someone could make the damned speed test so that we finally know.

For the thousandth time, I won't be angry if nGL is faster that n2DLib. But reading sentences like "it's optimized, thus probably faster than n2DLib" clearly assuming that n2DLib is not optimized, thus totally ignoring all the work that was put into it by several people, that really upsets me.

Well, I recognize I was rude myself, sorry about that. That may be because English is not my native language, but the way you said
Quote
come on runer use don't you use your magic to come up with anything?
just sounded to me like "come on Runer if you're so clever why don't you have a solution for this ?". I understand now that that is not the case so I apologize for my wording.

It's okay to be new at things or to be slow to understand. It's just the way it was said that bothered me, not the content itself. Again, sorry about that. I shall remove that -1.

Instead of being rude, just use your brain and understand that it is reading from archive that is slow, and that there's nothing you can do about it. It seems wasteful ? Too bad, you can only do that.

Applications created by Axe are not "signed" - that means you can't transfer it to other calcs because their OS won't find the app's signature. To sign it, you have to transfer it to your PC, sign it using for example RabbitSign, which is included in the Axe zip file, and send it back to your calc, after what you'll be able to transfer it without any problem.

10,000 lines !? O.O dang, and I thought nKaruga was big with 6658 lines of actual code (not including images).
