Release time !

So instead of talking to describe it, I'll just post it and you try it :P beware that I ended up adding a bunch of things I initially didn't plan. Also, you still get a screenshot of the new title screen.

Here you go for now, while it gets approved at ticalc : http://www.mirari.fr/PJ06

EDIT : actual gameplay :

Bump, quite a heavy one,

As level 1 is done and released and I'm back working on nKaruga, I now need more sprites for level 2 ! Moar sprites ! Moar goodness that I can animate to get even moar goodness out of it :E

You can see the original ships on this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y211wjZLyE, which will also show you how sick your tricks must be if you want to finish the level without firing AND without dying to get the "dot eater" achievement, also present in nKaruga (that made me realize I need to change my way of handling collisions, because the current one doesn't allow for such tricks).

Note that some ships were already present in level 1 and don't need to be sprited again, namely the ships here, here and here. Actually, if you don't count the boss only a few things need to be sprited, but remember that I also need environment elements, such as the big walls that open slowly in the middle of the level, and the many crates that are everywhere in the main part, after the intro. I'll also need those generators things out of which the very small enemies come, in the second link I gave. You get the idea.

Also, I'll need one background for the intro, one for the main part after the intro and, if you feel like it, one for a smooth transition between both, maybe I'll make it rotate so that it looks like the ship is turning around or something ;D

So yeah, good luck with that, and take your time, as I want to finish Axagon before working on nKaruga again, and that that should take me a week or two.

Bump, it's been a while.

School is getting harder and harder, and this won't stop before the end of next year or the year after if I fail said year. I don't have much time to work on things, so now that I'm nearly done with Axagon (one week or two should be enough to release it and call it done), I had to choose which one of Worms or nKaruga I'll be doing first, knowing that the loser won't get done before years (I'll definitely get around to finish it though).

Since nKaruga won, I started getting back on it by writing the TODO list for beta release 0.2. When I started the game, I decided to do a beta release each time I finish a level, so that 0.5 will be the last version before 1.0, which should just be small additions to 0.5 such as highscores or replays, provided I didn't implement them already at that time. tl;dr let's hope 0.5 never happens and 1.0 does instead.

You can consult the TODO list here : https://github.com/matrefeytontias/nKaruga/issues/15 . Feel free to emit any suggestion or request, while remembering that I want to stay as close to the original game as possible. A big gameplay evolution over Ikaruga, even if you feel like it might be an improvement, isn't likely to happen.

I'll go write a post in the sprite request thread while I'm at it. Also, now that I have several topics, can I have a sub-forum for nKaruga ? ;D

Thanks :) what's left is pretty much just add more pentagonal and square patterns, finish the two last difficulties (45s and 60s) and add highscore saving and a menu.

I didn't forget shit :P I call that "not doing everything at once". Also, I don't want to use the TI-OS's text functions as they always slow everything down.

More news ! Collisions are implemented, next is scoring. Aaand I actually want to bring it a little further afterwards, so we'll see about that when the time comes :3 (I also have to do a titlescreen first).

Ah okay. That's probably linked to the n2DLib / nGL argument thing. Though I find it a bit harsh to refuse the CoT title because of "being unpolite a few times", I agree that it's still a valid reason.

Hum, my only explanation was "you lost by one vote", which is not really an explanation.

Note that I'll only do Hexagon, not Super Hexagon.
What's the difference?
Hexagon is the flash game Terry Cavanagh made first in one day, eventually leading to him making Super Hexagon. The level 1 of Super Hexagon is actually Hexagon.
