Site Feedback and Questions / Apology
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:58:05 pm »
I'm just writing this to say "I'm sorry" to everyone on Omnimaga, especially those on IRC yesterday when I was on. I apologize for being a jerk and bashing NLua in a way that is considered trolling. I apologize to anyone whose feelings I may have hurt. I really blew it x.x

Computer Projects and Ideas / My arcade games
« on: June 15, 2011, 03:46:43 pm »
WARNING - GAME IS BUGGY AND THIS IS NOT THE FINAL RELEASE. IF YOU EXPERIENCE ERROR BOXES, PLEASE RESTART THE PROGRAM.

I'm gonna start making little arcade games in Game Maker. Here is my first one. The only controls are the mouse, aim and shoot. There are all these enemies coming down from the top of the screen, and you have to shoot them. It will throw them back a little bit, but not off the screen. You have to keep shooting them to get them off of the screen. You have so much ammo - shown by the big white bar at the top of the screen. It regenerates slowly. Will post screenshots later Screenshots and download link below - have fun!!! ;D

TOPIC LOCKED. TOO MANY CHANGES.

AnovaOS - An OS for development
Spoiler For Update history:
ENVISIONDEV UPDATE
OS version 0.1 is now out! Click here for more info and download links.
Now includes sudo. How could I forget it? It now includes support for Perl and Ruby.

ENVISIONDEV UPDATE - CURRENT OS
OS version 0.1.1 is now out! Click here for more info and download links.
This version now lets you select keyboard, language, and time zone at first boot.
Yes, it's another OS. It's about programming. And I wanted to make an OS, just to try out SuSE Studio. If you want to try it out the download links are below. Please comment and critique, I'll need help from the community ;D (or the Network, as I call it. :D) Sorry I can't provide more information. It has some dev patterns in it (C/C++, Java, Python, Perl, Ruby, web development).

Look here for updates: http://susegallery.com/a/b7UXzN/envisiondev-os
You can also download or test-drive there too! ;D

If you have any programs or RPM packages you would like in EnvisionDev OS, please send me a PM or email me at [email protected]

Other Calculators / Some things I'm wondering about the TI-84+ keypad
« on: June 10, 2011, 04:28:26 pm »
Ok, so in a few days I'll be ordering the TI-84+ keypad 4 free :D because I registered my Nspire. I has questions:

1. Do I need to use a ti-84+ cable and the TI-84+ software to link my Nspire in 84+ mode to the computer so I can transfer games and stuff?
2. This keypad will work with Axe games and programming and ASM games and programming, right?
3. If I need to use the 84+ linking stuff, will these items come with the keypad?

Thanks in advance! ;D

I see plenty of users with custom titles, how can I get one? There's no field in the profile settings where I can just type in a custom title...

TI-Nspire / Graph Art
« on: June 07, 2011, 07:43:55 pm »
Modern art, fractal art... Graph Art!

It's a crazy idea I've had, to make awesome abstract art using the graphing on my Nspire.

(P.S. I may put sliders in some of my stuff to make editable art :D)

Here is my first one, VERY basic.

Other Calculators / Need help changing TNO_WOB2 to TNO
« on: June 07, 2011, 06:57:14 pm »
I used TNOC to remove the Boot2 from OS 3.0.1. It outputted a TNO_WOB2 file. I need a TNO, no documentation included with TNOC will help me at all.

Other Calculators / {solved} Is it impossible to get an 84+ keypad?
« on: June 07, 2011, 03:45:39 pm »
Spoiler For Original Post:
Quote from: Back of TI-Nspire packaging
TI-84 Plus Keypad - Available at no additional cost
[...]
How to get your TI-84 Plus keypad:
1. Log on to education.ti.com/84keypad
2. Complete the online form. Your TI-84 Plus Keypad will be sent to you at no additional charge.

There, said twice that I can get an 84+ keypad for free. So I created an account, and registered my calculator, and guess what the education.ti.com/84keypad website looks like?

Where is the online form I should complete? I am logged in and my calc is registered, but the website still tells me to log in and register. ??? What do I do now? And I'm not taking "just go buy one online", because I was told I could get a free keypad, and I want my free keypad.

Problem solved  ;D

I know Nspire-Basic is awful and stripped-down, etc., but how can I start programming in it? I can't find a way to start the Program Editor anywhere...

Lua / Codes for touchpad, arrow keys, select button, other keys?
« on: June 05, 2011, 03:46:38 pm »
I know this code is correct for the up arrow
Code: (up arrow) [Select]
function on.arrowUp
       --what to do goes here
end

Do I just replace the Up in on.arrowUp with whatever direction? and also: Does anyone here know what the Lua codes for detecting what happens with the touchpad, select button, and other keys?

Other Calculators / Some CX questions
« on: June 03, 2011, 08:33:26 pm »
I was all w00t when I saw you could buy a CX now: link yay

I have a few questions, numbered so I can easily match up q's and a's:

1. Can the CX do percents?
2. Does it use a computer-like UI, just like the the standard Nspire?
3. Does it have a computer mouse, like older Nspires?
4. How much storage and RAM is available to use?
5. What can we program on it?
6. Can it do 3D graphing?
7. How many colors are available?
8. How many can we use in programming?
9. How fast and powerful is it?
10. How long does the rechargeable battery last?
11. The battery is built-in, right?
12. Can we charge it through the computer?
13. How accurate is the touchpad?
14. Can you type on it?
15. Why are there so few buttons? Are all of the functions accessible through menus?
16. Any sound capabilities?
17. What ports does it have? What link capabilities does it have?

Thanks in advance!  ;D

Miscellaneous / What is this Frontier Communications thing?
« on: May 27, 2011, 09:04:57 pm »
I was looking for this physics program called 'Phun' and I went to the website and I was directed to this:

http://assist2.searchguide.frontier.com/search?qo=phun.cs.umu.se&rn=tw6OawiBaWxONc7

What is assist2.searchguide.frontier.com? When I go to assist2.searchguide.frontier.com, I get the really old Internet Explorer Page cannot be displayed error - and I don't have IE either! And alot of the websites I go to, I get some random Frontier search thing.

And not only on our Wi-Fi at home, but un my uncle's too! We get ours from a completely different ISP, so has anyone else seen this?

Casio Calculators / Should I get a Prizm?
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:22:16 pm »
Well, should I? My 9860Slim has been acting up... well.... ever since I got it. And I would like a Prizm.

But I have a few questions: How is the Basic? Is it as good as 68k Basic?

What colors can I use in programming?

Are there any other reasons to get one besides it is new and has a color screen?
