Casio Calculators / String support
« on: May 23, 2011, 06:33:41 pm »
I have came to the conclusion that my calculator has no string support!

My various responses were :o ??? :'( O.O :( >:( :banghead:   <_<

Then I was informed there was an fx-9860G Slim OS 2.0 at one time and it is on Casio Bank now. :w00t: I downloaded it and I have yet to install it.

Will this OS 2.0 have string supports? Mainly putting strings into variables (need).

Other / Commodore 64c
« on: May 15, 2011, 09:20:58 pm »
I've been thinking about getting a Commodore 64c - I've always been interested in old electronics and games.
So what do you think?
It's all BASIC - I'm learning BASIC, and this would be awesome.

Oh looky: A C64c for $55? :o

It would be very cool. ;D

Ok so I got a Commodore emulator called VICE - and I found out I need to get roms for it to work.

So I did.

Here's the problem - I'm dragging the necessary c64 ROMS to the c64 folder in the VICE lib folder, just like the read me said - when I was hit with an error:

There was an error moving the file into /usr/lib/vice/C64.
Error moving file: Permission denied

 WHAT? How could permission be denied? What should I do now?

TI-Nspire / Atari emulator on Nspire?
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:52:57 am »
I wanted to ask this after I saw the C64 emulator idea thread.

Would an Atari 2600 emulator be possible? Maybe a higher system?

Other Calculators / TI-Nspire CAS Clickpad Question?
« on: May 08, 2011, 06:27:27 pm »
Alright I've been looking at the Nspire Clickpad and I have a question.

The Non-CAS is $159  :o

The CAS is $63  :w00t:

Does the CAS have less features then the Non-CAS?

If not, why doesn't it cost as much as the Non-CAS?

Other Calculators / Can I do anything with my TI-30XIIS?
« on: May 07, 2011, 08:25:46 am »
It's so basic and boring.

Seems like I could make it do something better.

Is there any way? I'm fine with replacing stuff inside of it, to an extent.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Please move it if it is. :)

Casio Calculators / Possible to screen capture...?
« on: May 05, 2011, 05:48:55 pm »
I want to try the Screen Capture function on the FA-124 software... but it's grayed out when the program recognizes the calc.

Ok a screenshot from the program... The calculator is plugged in the computer and is on the receive mode, but FA-124 doesn't know that.
The two menu options are selectable.

This is weird. Shouldn't they be grayed out because there is no calc connected...?

And the menu items are grayed out when FA-124 recognizes the calc:

What is going on??  :banghead: ???

Other / Project DreamPad - Now a calc.
« on: May 03, 2011, 03:41:02 pm »
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. If it is, please move it.

I called it Project DreamPad. It's just an idea, a concept.

I was inspired by the TOcalc project. After I've seen that project, I wanted to make a pocket PC-type thing. I decided on a device for programming -- a device that had a small full QWERTY keyboard on it that would have interpreters and IDEs for main languages (C++, ASM, Basic, Python, etc. Maybe even HTML?) so the programmers could just put the program on their DreamPad and write programs on the go!

Still debating on the shape, should it be a tall rectangle (TI-84+ shape) or shaped like a TI-92? Or all touchscreen?

I is so excited dat I has started programming in mah new Casio FX-9860G Slim!!!  :w00t:

It's called linedraw. It's very simple. There is a line and one of the lines is at the center of the screen (0,0) and you use the arrow keys to move the other end around. You can draw with this.  ;D It's simple and I'm proud of my work :D. I'll upload a screenshot and the file when I get home from school  . I'm also planning a simple drawign program based off of this.

Casio Calculators / Getting Geometry and Physium? [solved]
« on: April 29, 2011, 06:24:48 am »
My Casio fx-9860G Slim just came yesterday!!!  :w00t: :hyper: :o ;D

I can't find download links for these Geometry and Physium app-ins. :banghead:

All I can find are instructions on how to install them on the SD card version of the 9860.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Miscellaneous / Userbars: Do you make any?
« on: April 27, 2011, 04:34:03 pm »
I've made some userbars, they are both in my signature:

That Bubble Tanks one, the image in it is part of my custom awesome tank that is practically unbeatable. :w00t:

Just wondering if anyone here has made any userbars?  ???

Miscellaneous / Days of school left.....
« on: April 23, 2011, 04:56:57 pm »
As of April 23, I have 26 days of school left!!! :w00t:

How many days of school left do you have? (Sorry to people who are currently in summer break or to people who aren't in school)

Other Calculators / Do you have a Casio calc?
« on: April 17, 2011, 02:57:54 pm »
Just wondering who has a Casio calc since I'm planning on getting a Casio fx-9860G Slim. :)

Hi, I'm Spyro543.

I joined here because I'm thinking about getting a TI-84 Plus, and trying out the programming, but I don't have one yet.  :'(

I've mostly been in the Other Calc-Related Projects And Ideas forum, and those ideas, screenshots, and programs are simply AMAZING. I really like Darl181's projects.

When I get a TI-84+ I'll post more. But for now I'll just have to see what's going on here.  :)
