Casio Calculators / Re: Upgrade to 2.04
« on: August 05, 2014, 07:44:36 pm »
Well, I'm not against hacking... but I'm rejecting any help when someone clearly wants to convert a cheap calculator into a more powerful one. That has turned out to be a bigger issue than we originally had thought.

People have also started to even use very old upgrade tools that are actually unstable development versions. I will never send such files again to anyone. We also heard that a few people bricked their calculators (or were thinking that they bricked it) by using these tools... we are sorry for that, but we can't help when people are even unable to read the manual because they don't understand English... so... sorry, but we really don't care.

Wait, I thought you were another person, because you used a different account before

I was getting too many PMs and emails on how to hack/upgrade with fxRemote, so I decided it would be best to just kill my old account and register with a new one. And this turned out to be highly effective...

Yes, it is possible but I won't tell you how to do it.

Try these key combinations:

Oh well, my old nick was cfxm... :-)
And I don't want to bother you, but I have just attached the latest archive.

I didn't want to release this because I feared that Casio might start protecting the fx-CP400 setup. Now that I have extracted the OS 2.00 some days ago and Simon confirmed that Upload'n'Run is just working normally, there is no reason for me to keep this private any longer.

The fx-FD10 Pro is basically an fx-9860GII with different keyboard layout and casing, plus some backported Prizm software functionality. I would say Basic is fast enough.

They do only support Chinese characters in Basic programs. There is no Chinese language option like on the Prizm!
I guess this is because of the low display resolution as you only have access to six display lines when using Chinese characters with the 'locate' command. Also, these characters are only supported in text mode, but not in graphics mode.

That reminds me, can we post in English on cncalc.org?

You can, but normally you don't get many responses when you do so.
Yet, Chen Si understands English very well.

You can contact Chen Si <[email protected]>
He is the admin of cncalc.org and has bought the calculator for me.

Amazon China, Amazon Japan and some other Asian websites already sell this model.
Does anyone know a way I can buy this? No one is shipping to Europe...

Casio Calculators / Re: Should I get a Casio FX-9750GIIwe for $15?

Press [F2]+[4]+[AC/ON]+RESTART at the same time
Release RESTART and continue pressing the remaining keys for a few seconds
Press [9] for a second
Press [X] (multiplication) for a second

This will display the message "OS ERROR" which activates the boot code's emergency OS updater.

Casio Calculators / Re: Update casio fx 7400gii

I doubt it would work because of hardware differences, particularly the smaller 7400g series screen.
The fx-7400GII uses the same 128x64 resolution. Only the PPI value is higher.
The real problem is that the ROM size is only 2 MB and fx-9750GII and fx-9860GII OSes need 2.5 MB at least.

Is it possible to update casio fx 7400gii?
OS updating is inofficially supported, but there are no newer OS versions available that we know of.

Casio Calculators / Re: FX-124 Problem Please Help!!

You could do: SYSTEM / Reset / Initialize All
Then open the Link menu, check the cable setting, enable receive mode and connect the USB cable.
Now try to connect with FA-124.
If it still doesn't work, use another USB port on your PC.

But external links don't seem to work (e.g. from www.casiopeia.net).
I guess you are not planning to add some kind of compatibility layer, so I need to fix them myself...
