Humour and Jokes / Re: 9001 signs you're addicted to calcs and Omni

2078: You look at TravisE and wonder "what the heck is wrong with that dude?"

2107whatevertheheckthenumberissupposedtoberightnow: You are TravisE and look at yourself and wonder “what the heck is wrong with that dude?” :P

2108: You procrastinate and wait almost two days to necropost the above response even though it would have had far better impact if you had instead actually posted it right after the person whom you're replying to

2109: You totally forget the title of this thread and start posting points that actually have nothing at all to do with calcs or Omni

2110: Like point #2109 above

2111: Or #2110

2112: Or this one

2113: And, of course, this one...

...

∞ + 1: People ask you what in the world you're doing working with calcs and on the ticalc.org site at such ridiculous times of the night and morning

∞ + 2: Other ticalc.org *staff members* ask you what in the world you're doing working with calcs and on the ticalc.org site at such ridiculous times of the night and morning  ;D

∞ + 3: You worry about some of your calc programs not being Y2.1K-compliant because you were lazy and hardcoded the first two digits of the year to always be “20”

∞ + 4: You obsess over whether any of the points you posted were already said by someone else although you can't really do much about it since you don't have time to read all 113 pages of the thread

∞ + 5: You wonder if anyone has actually read the whole thread yet

∞ + 6: You doubt this thread will actually stop whenever the number gets to 9001

∞ + 7: You suggest to the admins that it might be a good idea to ban you from Omnimaga for a while before you end up making this thread even more cuckoo :P

And that's it for right now.  Time for me to go consume some more sugar!

From what I remember from last time the conversation about ticalc.org subdomains came up, there were no plans to open new ones due to the time and effort involved. The big concern from people like Magnus had to do with potentially large amounts of work involved on a system for not enough gain, especially when any non-static content comes into play.

I once succeeded in writing a 1-byte quadratic solver including the byte %10101010, but sadly I lost it in a crash and never was able to recover it. :(

I highly recommend rating files on ticalc.org—we never get enough of those. I'm sure there are enough of  you guys here who you could probably organize yourselves and go on a rating campaign or something. ;) That would help us out a lot and give us a better idea of what kinds of files should and should not be approved. It only takes a second for each file, and unlike reviews, it only takes 24 hours max for ratings to be included in the statistics rather than 24 months. :P (I hope Duncan's not reading this)

Oh yeah, and for bad/obviously nonworking, misplaced, suspected stats cheating, etc., programs, do use that report form at the bottom of the fileinfo pages. I do read and consider those reports, even though I don't always reply.

Zoey/Zodiac (who would never stop meowing) and Toulouse (who was always stealing my jacket last winter every time I set it down for more than five seconds). Sadly, Zoey is no longer with us (having been hit by a car last June), and Toulouse seems to prefer spending more time outside than with me, so it's way too quiet around here now.

1904 (Assuming the last poster(s) numbered correctly): You've almost mistaken your calc for food

1905: You have no need for official ID/driver's license because you're well known enough just by your calcs

1906: You've been accused of giving out slide cases, batteries, and other random accessories at Halloween, and/or dressing up as those or calculators or community websites

1907: You're spending time posting the 1562nd reply in this topic even though you're sleepy and should be in bed, just because you randomly come up with some things and wanted to post them really fast (Hmm, who would actually do that...?)

Miscellaneous / Re: Do you use Rockbox?
« on: August 15, 2011, 01:28:45 pm »
I've been using Rockbox on my Sansa Fuze for quite a while now. Nikky sort of introduced me to it. I think I had actually heard of it before then, but didn't realize Sansa Fuze was supported until Nikky brought it up on the Cemetech forum one day.

It's a lot nicer for me because it has more of the features I was actually looking for that the Fuze's built-in firmware lacks, plus I got tired of waiting for Sandisk to (probably never) fix all the bugs in their proprietary firmware. :P

If they are CR2025s, they're also fairly common in my area. In fact, my Timex watches have used them (I recently had to replace one the other day with a spare I had lying around) as well as a couple of old organizer-type devices or calculators that I used to use.

You could probably try running CHKDISK on it to try to recover the filesystem, but don't expect much. Depending on what exactly is corrupted, it's possible the only thing you can do is reformat it and try using it for something else, while keeping an eye on it and keeping safe copies of data somewhere else in case it happens again.

I haven't always done it because I couldn't decide if I should—I'm not sure this ability was even intended.

Sorry, my fault. The system doesn't actually automatically make URLs clickable; I did that by hand because I can't stand nonclickable links on websites. :) I screwed up and stupidly didn't test the link afterwards to make sure it worked. I think it's fixed now.

Cats for me. We've also had fish in the house, and they were fine, though we once had a cat that would drink water out of the fish tank. :P But our fish apparently occasionally eat each other.  :(
