Art / Re: 10x zoom in paint
« on: July 21, 2010, 10:26:48 pm »
I do all my pixel art in Paint Shop Pro 9. It's just a lot easier for me to work with, as I can use a grid view with a "snap-to-grid" feature. This allows me to, for instance, have a 16x16 grid that auto-snaps the selection tool to a 16 px boundary. As for zooming, I think it goes as high as 5000%. This is really useful for pixel-by-pixel drawing.

I'm not sure what sort of features have been added to Paint since XP, though. Maybe MS decided to implement similar things.

The darker version looks nice. I didn't think to make one like that.

Subliminal message? (NSFW)

I think one of the level designers was a little pre-occupied with other tasks while designing that area. :P

Twin-Serpent makes the Author sound like he's just slapping names together for a quick release.

It was pretty much a place-holder, as I added the boss in at a later point. Objectively, I think a lot of the names were kind of quirky at first; so I took some time to revise many of them at one point.

I died laughing at "Door Spasms."

Arr-kay-o worm

Closest approximation I can think of. There may be multiple ways to say archaeo-.

I can't separate the maps into different tilesets, as they each reference a pretty good number of tiles shared between all maps.

Perhaps if there were a more suitable program out there. CalcGS has too many limitations, and bugs. I can't get some features to work at all. I've searched for alternatives, but insofar, there appears to be none.

Escheron: Shadow over Ragnoth / Re: Escheron: Shadow over Ragnoth

As a note: Spells have a Wisdom requirement before a character can learn them. The current gameplay demonstration references this, by indicating whether a character is knowledgeable enough to learn a spell, or not.

Background info: This is one of the bosses (two, actually) that appear in the game. Originally, it was called the more generic "Twin-Serpent." (to reflect that the boss appears in mirrored instances) Later, I decided to revision some of the item, enemy, spell and ability names used. I thought "Archeowyrm" might sound a bit better, and more archaic. This respectively translates to "Ancient Dragon."

Just for the sake of settling a semantic debate I had with someone else over the issue, what are your thoughts? Does "Archeowyrm" seem at all awkward?

Does Photobucket require registration? If not, that works for me.

If this is done, please list some suitable alternatives that both allow hot-linking and don't require registration. I used to know a few, but they've gone down since I've last used them.

Otherwise, I don't mind - so long as someone can indicate other hosting options.
