General Calculator Help / Re: Dapianokid's TIOS discussion

I have had this problem before, I think, with os 0.56. I think I solved it by using a silverlink, but something may have been malfunctioning too.

http://usb8x.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/usb8x/
The bootcode does not matter, except that bootcode 1.03 has an extra protection that makes only os 2.55 transferable to the calc, but that can be patched.

The newest version of usb8x is 0.13, and the highest version of msd8x is 0.97. The release was very quiet, and only the sources were released. if you want the binaries, you will have to compile them from source (or I might as well, they are right in front of me). The source is on the usb8x SVN repository and can be compiled with Zilog Developer Studio 3.68.

No, except if it is something as touchy as zStart, which is doing OS mods. Most apps should work with the more recent OSs. The one OS dependency I can think of now is that usb8x requires os 2.30 or higher to run.

jacobly, I think we are missing a [stat] button.

The only reason I have 2.53 is that I like that I can scroll through previous answers. Otherwise I would use 2.43.

Mostly that zStart does not seem to work very well in 2.55 and it works in 2.53, I figure that 2.55 has some hidden bug that is destroying my calc.

ah, I thought the 'on' key was moved to the Nspire's ON key. What is the right ROM? I dumped my own multiple times, and only BootFree roms seem to work. Other roms just display a blank screen.
The pixels are readable, but there is some white space on some of them.
Idea: for the people who have memorized the 84 keymap, could we use the letter keys as direct-mapped keys?

I just got a chance to test the clickpad version, and it does not seem to work. it just gives me a blank screen. I can still exit but it takes a while.
By the way, you made some changes to nspire_emu? I would like to know what you did. It might fix compatibility issues with other programs.

I use 2.53, it has all of the mentioned features of 2.55, except that I find it a lot less buggy with programs, and the stat wizards are just plain annoying.

Thanks :)

This may be a new topic in itself, but ExtendeD was working on the USB drivers, but never got to a release. I imagine that the Linux source would have usable USB code in it, since it uses USB devices well.

Ti-Programmer: yes, we theoretically can plug in a flash drive and read from it, but that requires Linux, as far as I have seen, and the flash chip driver does not work, so files cannot be transferred to the calculator from the flash drive.

Try the "Remove OS" option. It should work. Otherwise use the "Reformat All" option. Also, are you sure that it says 407,233 KB? That is more space than the calculator's 100MB can even hold.

These are normal files. I think it is a prototype, but I don't know what sort. Critor may be able to help.

Where did you get the CX? There was recently a wave of prototypes from China. Also, what kind of files are on the calc? Could you send them, or attach them?
