So, this is a thing, apparently.

I'm quite excited myself, being a fan of the Hoenn region. The brighter colours and interesting town design really stood out compared to other games. Also, this of course gives those of us without DSs the possibility to transfer Hoenn pokemon over to our other games, which is always nice.

My real question at this point is if they're going to adapt these to be more like X and Y (ergo, diagonal/freeform movement, the more 3d environments, etc.) If they did so, I could see these topping the originals by quite a margin.

In any case, share your thoughts on their decision to (finally) offer us a remake!

Humour and Jokes / Professional art thread
« on: June 18, 2013, 01:53:48 am »
So, those who've seen me spamming circulating throughout the IRC channel, recently, I've discovered Oliver, Age 24, who is undoubtedly the most skilled artist ever seen on the face of the earth. For an example of his work, look at the video(a bit NSFW)

To say the least, he's brilliant.

Anyway, using him as my inspiration, I made a professional-style drawing. I want to see you guys' efforts as well, though.

Art / Turiq's art thread [sketches]
« on: May 13, 2013, 09:05:06 am »
I recently started scanning some of my artwork, and I was bored, so I decided to post some of it here:

To start with, a pikachu. Lightning effects are damn hard to draw on a light BG >.>

Next, a Charmander. This was pretty much a test at cartoon-ish shading, and it turned out relatively well :D

And finally, a badly-drawn dinosaur.

Of course, there's more to come!

If anyone has comments/feedback/criticisms/requests, please do so. I always try to improve ;)

So, as some may know, but most likely don't, it was my birthday yesterday err... on the 19th. posted this a day too late xP, an in the process, I got my hands on this interesting little piece of gadgetry. At the moment, I don't have much of an idea about how I can use it, but the website here says something about a 3-axis accelerometer and a 430 mHz operating frequency, so it sounds pretty decent...
The display is a segmented thingy, though, so it might be a bit iffy for game programming, at least :/

Minecraft Discussion / Minecraft Screenshot thread!
« on: September 04, 2012, 03:55:26 pm »
Now that we have a subforum, I'm gonna start up a screenshot thread for any cool moments/builds in minecraft, I suppose...

To start off with, I have a dome:

Axe / Bullet code bug?
« on: May 21, 2012, 01:31:14 pm »
So, hellninjas and I have been trying to figure out some decent code for programming bullets, and we've pretty much got it down now- except for one bug.
when firing a new bullet, a picture of the bullet sprite bullet flashes briefly at the top of the screen.
Could someone find what's wrong?
Also, optimize if neccesary :P
Spoiler For code:

0->C+5 -> D
15 -> X -> Y
[18247EBDFFBDFFA5] -> Pic1
[183C3C3C3C240000] -> Pic2
Repeat getkey(15)
X+getKey(3)-getKey(2) --> X
Y+getKey(1)-getKey(4) --> Y
if getkey(54)
if C
if {L*2+1+L1}>64
if C>0

Gaming Discussion / Realm of the mad god
« on: February 11, 2012, 05:51:02 am »
a question... Does anyone else play this?
it's basically a 'bullet hell'-type game, except it's multiplayer :D

I've practically become hooked on it, though :P

Art / Sprite compendium- the ultimate source for game artwork.
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:54:18 pm »
Well, I decided that I needed something to work on, and this is the result!

This is going to be a collection of sprites usable by anyone, and everyone's welcome to contribute. To start with, I am attaching a small weapons sheet with monochrome and grayscale weapons
here's a link to saintrunner's sprite thread, containing a good amount of well-designed sprites for calculator and computer.

please give credit to the author of the sprites if you plan on using it!
people put hard work into making artwork and deserve some sort of credit for it.
-files must be of the PNG file type
-no exact copies of existing sprites
-any size is welcome, but 8*8 or 16*16 are preferred(they're easier to implement in a game :P)

Introduce Yourself! / one year at omni: my anniversary introduction

About time that I posted in this board...
As most of you know, my 'name' is turiqwalrus. I am a 14-year old German. My calculator collection involves an 84+SE and a prizm. I can code in Casio BASIC, TI BASIC, and Axe, and know a bit of C/C++, Java, and Visual BASIC. I am secretly a notorious troll
Here is a picture of me:

Music Showcase / turiqwalrus's music thread
« on: October 19, 2011, 02:49:24 pm »
I've been composing random junk for a while now, and I decided to build a thread for my work...
this is the intro to a game theme of some sort... it's still unfinished, though  <_<
anyone experienced in composing, please give feedback on style and stuff.
Enjoy ;)

BTW, this is an 'orchestral arrangement' made in MuseScore

I finally finished a workable prizm program other than a WFRNG :P
anyway, here it is!

I thought that I'd put this in a separate thread instead of the avatar one to avoid clutter.
Anyways, ashbad posted some excellent suggestions and I will implement them as soon as possible

TI Z80 / Metronome
« on: March 28, 2011, 10:30:03 pm »
meh... I was bored, so I made a metronome with axe. First input the speed(60=1 beat per second), then it will invert the screen on every beat.
AXEMETRO is the source, and MTRONOME is the compiled version

if someone could make screenshots or something?
