I need enemy sprites! More about that here: https://www.omnimaga.org/reuben-quest/recruiting!/msg401897/#msg401897
I guess it is time to recruit some creative heads out there!
We are looking in particular for someone who can do map design, maybe help out with storyline, and, most importantly come up with side quests.
So yeah if you wanne apply either reply here or hit me up with a PM :)

Haha that's perfect for a job application letter.

I already have a storyline idea from early 2005, but it's not fully developed. For example, there is no event planned other than the main one which involves saving a guy who disappeared and assuming a Reuben sequel would ever be made (since the 2005 idea was for one) the fact a new land is being explored. Other things are planned as I discussed with you, although it would be best to avoid divulging too much in case that was used.
I could help doing some maps, but I have too many projects going on or in the planning stages right now, as well as real life events happening soon, so my help would be slow-paced.
If you ever go for a Reuben sequel, extra items like bombs could be added to blow up blocked tunnel entrances and cracked walls.

/me peaks in and whispers "still open, looking for people who are good at making story stuff"

When you want, my friend. (And why does it work when it's not me that ask for help ><)

I think DJ would be a perfect candidate for this ;)

He doesn't want to :P

For this upcoming game, should I drop 83+ support to be able to improve graphics quite some? (see poll added)
(which would also mean i'd need moar graphics design, lol)
-
Seems I missed this thread. Better late than never I guess. :P

I need enemy sprites! Up to 64x64 for virtually anything!
Four level grayscale
The areas I can come up with right now are:
- forest/woods
- mountain
- plain/field
- water
- cave

I unfortunately won't be able to help with the pixel art, but I do have an answer to your poll. I believe you should support both calcs, and allow newer models to opt in into better graphics. With my modified version of @Runer112's greylib (which you seem to be using) I was able to allow the user to select from monochrome, shitscale (auto correct suggesting "shirts ale" WTF LMAO) , and proper interrupt based greyscale, all in mid game.

Oh, the improved gray was implied in both situations, but if i had dropped 83+ support, which I didn't, I would have given 8lvl grayscale a try :P

What about 83+SE support? Would that work?
-
If you're asking if the game works on the 83+SE then the answer is yes. The 83+SE is little different from the 84+ models except it lacks a clock and maybe a couple other minor things.

That's what I thought, but it's always good t make sure. (I have a 83+SE)
