I just had the great idea to port the awesome WFRNG to the Wii! I just finished it, download coming soon!
Also, due to my current lack of programming courses this semester (and non-lack of math courses), I might be more active on Wii homebrew and calc programming. :P
EDIT: Here's the .dol file, until I make a .zip file suitable for the Homebrew Channel. http://files.julosoft.net/wfrng-wii.dol
EDIT2: Fixed some bug, you might have to download it again.
-
Screenies?
We want screenies?
-
I tried putting this on my SD card in order to take a few screenshots, but the whole card deformatted itself or something. D:
R.I.P. every single homebrew save file I had
and I have to download all my official games again too, which takes hours D:
It's probably not WFRNG's fault... Let's blame Windows. It said that a CRC was wrong.

you had official games?
-
The VC and WiiWare stuff. Downloading from the Shop Channel is so slow...
-
I know right. At least they are not asking you to rebuy what you already bought.
Now I have to figure out how to take the obligatory screenie (I don't really want to take a picture of my TV and emulators seems to fail) and I have to make some logo suitable for the Homebrew Channel.
Also, how's the game, for the people who successfully installed it?
JosJuice, would be nice if you could take some screens, also you could use wiiload to run the game without loading it to a SD card.
-
What's Wiiload? Won't I need to put it on an SD card in order to run it?
I have a capture device that I can use to take screens, but it's hard to do so right now since I can't play the game.
-
Wiiload lets you send and run .dol and .elf files to the Homebrew Channel over the network.

Hmm... I don't think my Wii is connected to the same router as my computers.

WOAHAHAH This looks pretty cool, my Wii is not homebrewed, so I don't know if I can try it.

Do you want help? I would be glad to.
One thing that is really cool about wii homebrew community is that when someone posted a program to play wii games free, the guy got shot down for Illegal downloads and whatnot.
Side note: There is a wabbit emu for the ds. How about for the wii?

I barely use my wii, so homebrewing it is not something I want to do xD
EDIT: But thanks ;D
-
I can verify that this works. Can you release the source?

Yeah, I believe it wouldn't be too hard po port Wabbitemu for DS to the Wii.

Of course. Coming soon.

What's the point of this game? You just keep guessing random numbers?

yep. That's the point. There is no point. ;-) It's some old meme or something.
-
Juju, are you going to add WFRNG to HBB? ;D
-
Yes, maybe, I could. Would be fun.

This is a reference to an old ticalc.org running gag started by one of their staff in 2000: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/news/articles/3/38/38229.html (they sarcastically made fun of the obscenely large amount of number guessing games on ticalc.org.)
I think I saw a Casio one on Omni somewhere, too. I'll have to check.
Anyway lol juju for porting it to the Wii. :P One thing, though: shouldn't this be located in the ROM hacking and homebrew forum? ??? http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?board=64.0

Yes, although you do program it on a computer. ;-) He used something called devkitPro to compile it, and probably used wiiload to send it.

Oh, I never remarked. But it's still console homebrew, even if I used my computer to compile it and looks like computer software. You can have an admin move it there.
-
Yeah I thought it would fit more into the homebrew category. After all, most ASM coders develop calc games on a computer too. Plus the ROM hacking/homebrew section could use a few extra topics. :P
-
Quick question: What is this program? I see it has been ported and written for absolutely EVERY device ever, but I am afraid to run it on anything because it is just spammed all over the archives I find them in.
-
It's pretty much a simple guess a number between 1 and 30 program, advertised as the best program ever made ever.
-
Holy necro O.o
and i would like to develop stuff for the wii some day :P
-
Yes, I should've screamed "NECROPOST" before writing anything. :P
Developing for the Wii has become much easier over the years since the first Wii hacking began. 2010 was about the time it became a widespread activity, and by 2013, Wii hacking and homebrewing is actually a common geek practice :P
This program is just a rickroll for computer nerds. :P
-
Pretty much, yes.
