This game is starting to turn out more and more like chess, so I'll be changing the concept of Calsiah, revolving around being able to move every single piece per turn on a bigger and less-open board.  This will allow "big battles" and strategy similar to an RTS.

However, these two things will not change:

1. You start out with a variety of units at the beginning, rather than just "workers"
2. Humans will still be all-around, Ptaloids will still be strength-in-numbers, and Tosonians will still be big, tough units

Sounds like Bahamut Lagoon, with Starcraft Racial features mixed in :P So, will there be HP for individual units, or special rules ala chess?

Never heard of Bahamut Lagoon, but I was reminded of Risk

There will be individual HPs, and some pieces will move faster than others

It's for the SNES, has turn order like you described, with one twist: Dragons that are on your side, but you can't control. The enemy usually also has dragons.

I'm glad you think so, but if development resumes, the concept has changed (it's no longer chess-like), so the gameboard will change as well

Oh ok :(, I hope you don't have too much to redo x.x (especially sprites/tiles)

Don't worry...the idea barely started before I realized it was too much like chess.  Not much to redo, since not much was done.

I honestly have no idea if I'm going to start this up again.  For about a year, I've had, oh, 10 game ideas that I started and then got bored of working on.

But if it turns out that I won't get bored of Calsiah, the new concept will be developed in Axe.  I was fiddling around last night and came up with a new game board.

I hope you can manage to finish it. By the way this looks quite nice. How big are those planets meant to be in pixels?

64 x 64 pixels.  There are many gameplay-related reasons for the size, but the main reason they are that big is they are meant to have 4 32x32 sections for ground units to reside on.
