I've been wondering around the site and found the Arcade zone but I'm not allowed in. I didn't find the qualifications that are required for that so... why not ask it here? So... how is it?
-
Oh you need 50 posts to access it. It was to save bandwidth. Note that this arcade is very old, though, and is not maintained anymore by the person who wrote the mod, so it might be buggy. It's a generic arcade you find on some other forums, where you can play some old Flash games and have highscores.
-
Oh... ok. I'll reach those 50 posts...
-
What about the respect thing?
-
if you post a post that someone feels is helpful/insulting, they click on the "thumbs-up/down" images on the top-right. ;)
also, try not to double post within 6 hours. ;)

Ya, the modify button is your friend :)

Typically, big project updates or projects announcement with screenshots and a lot done or even releases makes people click the thumbs up icon a lot. Same for helpful comments. Rude comments and trolling usually does the opposite, kinda like the Youtube comment rating system they had until April 2010.
/me also hopes gangsterveggies remains active after he reaches 50 posts. O.O

oh dyk that there are 99 games in the arcade, i was hoping for a 100th SPECIAL one...
-
Does Starcraft Count? :P
-
Lol, actually it's part of the 99s
-
*goes to check arcade* Maybe one of those games could make a simple Axe port...
Is there an Axe tetris yet...?
-
I don't think so. It would be nice to have Tetris with a twist or some features not available on other Tetris clones for calcs.
-
*writes idea in programming notebook*
I would have to think of something quite unique to contest with the current ones...screen flipping effects or something...
-
One thing that would have ruled about the arcade is if Miotatsu made BasiC++ use Flash, we could have put ports of calc games in there to keep the arcade true to the site theme. Or if it supported Java, we could have loaded some of Builderboy games in there. :P
-
Maybe we could put a java or flash based ti-83+ emu on there, with infinite archive space, and have all axe games ever made on it!
-
The only issue would be the ROM, though...
-
...unless you put some 3rd party OS you can run Axe games on it. Seems a good idea.
-
I guess someone would need to write some sort of emulator not using any ROM and just third-party code or something, to avoid the copyright issues.
