Title: Broken Signature Pics
Post by: Freyaday on April 13, 2011, 04:33:13 pm
This has been happening to several people's sigs for a while now, and only recently did I discover what was going on:Sometimes, in people's sigs, for what ever reason the the thing that creates them misses the beginning [nocode](http://tag, and thus they are stuck with a url and a)[/nocode] in their sig that shouldn't be there. Everything is fine on the profile page, it's only on the forums that this problem appears, and it's in the sig itself, not that particular instance of it. I've just figured it out because it just happened to me.

Edit: It also seems to skip over the entire [?]server[/?] name, only printing the part after the first/

I don't think so, because the userbar generator and image uploader are still up. I just checked.

Nah, it must be your browser cache, because if you try accessing http://removedfromgame.com/  it doesn't respond at all.

Nah, that was the first time I've accessed either of those sites on this computer.
This is what I get at http://removedfromgame.com

Hmm strange. This means that some DNS issues or the like is occuring, because several people can't access it. Otherwise maybe 1and1 banned several IP addresses accidentally.

I'll probably keep the images banned until this is resolved, so it won't impair half of the people experience on the forums.

Its not a DNS issue, it correctly resolves the ip.

Code: [Select]
jim@jammm:~$ wget http://removedfromgame.com/
--2011-04-13 22:39:28--  http://removedfromgame.com/
Resolving removedfromgame.com... 74.208.207.205
Connecting to removedfromgame.com|74.208.207.205|:80... failed: Connection timed out.
Retrying.

--2011-04-13 22:42:38--  (try: 2)  http://removedfromgame.com/
Connecting to removedfromgame.com|74.208.207.205|:80...

Edit: and it works with a proxy

Works for me, too

How about this...someone could make a poll: "Does removedfromgame.com work for you as of now?"

I'm pretty sure it's a geographic thing, something en route messed up or something...

THat said, maybe it's resolved now but it still didn't propagate everywhere.

Also 1and1 might have banned the IPs from where the most traffic came from.

It also seems to be happening to people with sig pics that aren't hosted at removedfromgame, judging by the url remains I can see. Also, if it was related to some sort of banning or blocking, it would've happened to everyone at the some time, instead of happening to only a few people at random times.

Give me an example and a screenshot of how pictures look like please.

You must click on the button on your keyboard called printscreen.
Then you make a new bmp file. Click edit and do cntrl+v

Freayday, this just looks like a duplicate topic to me... Of the RFG is down.

Here. As you can see, Zippy's got a broken pic, as shown by the url remnants in blue in his sig. If this was related to removedfromgame.com being down, I'd have the same problem, but as you can see I currently am not.
Edit: sorry, messed up the screen shot.

It's an image hosted on Internetometer/Dragcave. They're banned from Omnimaga because their server is pure slow crap.

Anyway RFG seems back up on my side now. However I don't know about Scout/Stefan Bauwens...

It's the internetometer, and yeah they're banned for slow loading times.

I ended up making a userbar and it actually fits in now ;D
