Title: Cloudflare 502
Post by: Sorunome on July 04, 2013, 09:35:28 am
I've been getting error 502 (gateway timeout) a lot recently - source is cloudflare. And by a lot, i mean a lot.
Maybe one of the admins should check up on that? Because it gets annoying

I've also gotten gateway timeout a few times, something with cloudflare is wrong.....

I think somebody else got that too. I didn't, however, so it could be the CloudFlare server in Germany that is tanking. Not sure. Hopefully an admin notices this soon, else I guess you can try to e-mail them.

It is only preiodically short, but pretty frequent :/
Oh, and yeah, it could only be germany as turiqwalrus is getting the error at the same time as i do

I haven't been having issues with 502 errors. The problem is probably specific to your area and there is little any of us admins can do.
A good place to check to see if cloudflare is having issues would be https://www.cloudflare.com/system-status

Oh yeah, it says 'Preformance degradation' in germany, so that is the cause then :)

I think you can send them tweets too if you experience problems and they haven't done anything yet.

CloudFlare also has a habit of showing up on the StopForumSpam database. I don't know if this would impact our new registrations, but it could be a problem.

I doubt it would impact anything. The StopForumSpam would check the actual IPs provided in the headers CloudFlare gives.

Plus, that's only on registration.

Right, that makes sense. Otherwise all the IPs should show up the same (which they don't).
