Hello,
Is it within the rules of the contest to have the actual game be in Axe, but have companion software for map generation and such on the computer?

*bump*

I'll answer next week.
j/k. Yes, just as long as the on-calc code is all Axe or data read with it. It's the on-calc result that matters (and if you produced most of the code or used tools you created to produce most of it).
The Game.

By the way, I'm sure you're already doing this, but just in case this applies to someone else with this question, make sure you include at least a few default levels so that gameplay is possible without requiring the extra software. Don't expect players to have to build their own levels just to play it, that should only be an extra feature for added replayability.

True Quigibo. I don't remember if I suggested this before, but some people may not bother trying your entry hard enough otherwise. At least include one level if it's going to be a demo and a long one. Same if it's a strategy game, include one playable map

I will personally be converting most of the maps from the game, and most of the campaign.

Ok, sounds good :)
Use anything that can speed up your development :)
