Title: Could admins add HP downloads section?
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 19, 2013, 02:40:54 pm
I was wondering if admins could add an HP calculator downloads section? In http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=44 you have 3 TI sections split in categories, along with a Casio section split in 2 categories. Maybe there could be 1 HP section there too?

Since HP is less popular I don't think splitting games and tools would be necessary but at least if we got HP stuff (such as my HP tunnel) they would be sorted properly :P

Well it's added now :P. And yeah that calc is cool for coding. However be prepared to cringe at how unstable it can be and chances of being unable to transfer programs at all before paying $90+ for it. :P

That's pretty cool. I'm actually interested in getting one myself. :)

By the way one of the main bugs are:

-Resetting the calc causes the calc to freeze
-Trying to delete all lists causes the calc to freeze
-In certain rarer occasions, on auto-power-down the calc will freeze instead of turning OFF. Didn't have this happen on the current firmware, though
-File transfer to/from the computer won't work under the latest firmware and the one that comes with the calc. You can view program/variables content from the computer, though, in read-only mode.
-The calc adjusts the CPU clock according to battery power. This can get annoying if your game needs a lot of speed.
-Connectivity Kit freezes when the calc is unplugged from USB.
-Programs are about 10 times larger than their TI-84+ counterpart. This means the 255 KB RAM fills up pretty quick.
