Title: Download Section Topic Creation
Post by: ztrumpet on November 23, 2011, 02:20:13 pm
I know it would be possible to disable the fact that the Download section automatically creates topics about each download.  Would it be possible to do this, or at least make it optional to post a topic or not.  I have seen several people question the extra topic, and in numerous cases it's unnecessary.

Do any of you guys share this dream?
Netham, this is possible, right?

Yeah I noticed in most cases it got unnecessary. I like this feature because in the past, people posted downloads without ever announcing them on the board, so they went unnoticed, but the problem is that feature is buggy it seems: Everytime you edit a download and re-approve it, it re-creates the topic.

You could disable it, as I thought about doing so before, but be warned it takes a while, as you must disable it in each section one-by-one.

In any case, could there be a way to encourage members to announce their downloads on the forums when they release something big? It would suck if some stuff just got ignored because the member forgot to post about it. D:

maybe do something with IRC?
If somebody post a download, the IRC tells people like
