For a while I was trying to shake off the feeing that the new hosting move would cause some inconsistencies that had not been solved as of yet. But then I realised what was wrong. When the old members registered on the current site got a post count boost (from old posts), the registration date didn't change (I.e. from August 25 or later). So while posts from before August 25 were counted in post counts, this would give an abnormally high posts per day statistic in profiles as
posts per day = number of posts / number of days since registered (on new forum starting Aug 25 2008)
i.e.: DJ_O's profile http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1
Just bringing this up as something, though I doubt this could be fixed as all registration dates would be inconsistent too between old and new members.
-
Yeah it's because the average is based on your join date. The only way to fix it would be to change their registration dates to the old board's, but even then it would still be inconsistent because all accounts from April 8th 2006 or before are gone, and we no longer have any data for the join dates.
Cemetech has a similar issue because postcounts includes their Invisionfree board.

I dunno,
There's not much we can do about the inconsistency between registration date for the current active forums (2008-) and including old posts in the post count.
There was another inconsistency I found out a few days ago, but I've forgotten.

A lot of cool stuff seemed to happen in the mid-90's that I missed being negative one years old...

Yea the only way really is that I give the old z9 registration dates to Netham.

Maybe the old registration date (if possible) could be in brackets as an addition somewhere on the profile page, so people are aware that a particular user was a member of the old forums and so there is bound to be an inconsistency with the posts per day stat.
Because, I don't see much of a way of fixing it completely, and it may not be needed anyway.

Normally it should change eventually to the correct thing automatically if you know what I mean. Don't know how long that would take though.

Iguess there's always the trick of setting everyone's date to their 1st post ever, but then there are people who signed up months before their 1st one, so Netham45 would have to skip anyone who signed up long before their first post

That would make things even more inconsistent overall.
And I'm not sure what you mean Stefan. DJ_Os posts per day is still based on the registration date of 25 August 2008.

Note: I still have the registration dates of people from April 9th 2006 to December 31st 2007, along with Agent84's Early 2008 registration date and approximate dates for certain older members (2005). If in the future you decided to update some people's registration dates, I might eventually be able to provide them.
