Then don't? It is fine the way it is, doesn't take much to remember 6 more chars.

nah sry but as someone above said I dont put any money into Omnimaga, neither will the staff. As a Omnimaga.org domain would be cool we changed url too much in the past 2 years that it will confuse ppl even more. Also because of this some old URL still show up in google and it make ppl think Omnimaga shutted down :(sad.gif . On top of that if for example I buy a domain name and something happens to me and no one can pay it it will amke the website go down, with the free sub domain, which isnt that bad compared to geoshitties urls i have more guarantees that this will stay up even when I am gone. Sry

oh you could prbly bookmark it?

I would like if the omnimaga.dyndns.org link went to the site, not to the portal. The portal screws up IE really badly. (Using IE on a work comp, so don't ever start.)

Question, comments, suggestiong and bug reports
You might want to fix that.

What if we made www.omnimaga.org just be a redirector to redirect it to http://omnimaga.dyndns.org?

it is, its supposed to be used for home servers, but invisionfree domain manager works with it. i couldnt set this domain name on a normal IPB forum, its really a feature exclusive to invisionfree and a few other place, i mean you cant set a dyndns.org domain to point to a geocities site

But couldn't you just ping it to get the IP address, then just redirect it to that?

Get the IP address... Ping it and it is at top.

Make a Javascript redirection page

Easy!

i c, well i wouldnt need to do that if I used a domain for this forum, but seeing what happened with rivereye studios (see affiliate at bottom of page) I really dont trust domain providers anymore

Ok I finally got a domain from yahoo: http://omnimaga.org . So you should be able to get to the site from here, altough if you use the old url it redirects here anyway. For some reasons it removes the www at the beginning of the url when browsing, like slashdot.org, but i guess its not a big problem since both can be used. I took yahoo because it costs $1.95 for the first year and Invisionfree is affiliate with them so it's very easy to get support. If someone wanted he could even get a yahoo domain for his invisionfree forum, send a support ticket to Invisionfree staff and get them to set it for him, plus you can get support directly at invisionfree forums

anyway enjoy and dont forget to update your bookmarks and link sections!
