I was just curious where the Games section went for the Arcade. I liked it. :D
-
the old one messed up, we couldn't add comments anymore and highscores didn't worked anymore I think so I ditched it. However I may add a new one on this site when I get some time if I can re-add some of the old games to it, especially Sonic
-
That'd be awesome. :)
-
I to miss some of those games, sonic was fun!
-
there was an arcade section?
-
Yeah on the old board to the right of the Help Search Members Calendar links. It was external to the board and was buggy though. Near the end the entire comment board vanished. I have yet to find a decent SMF integrated arcade system now
-
there was a sonic game?
-
Yeah, the old flash sonic game that looked like the sega genesis ones but had slower framerate
-
interesting. I definitely wanna try that.
-
i do hope an arcade wont make post size triple cuz of the typical game scores list below each user's avatar
-
You finally got your arcade back. :)
However It will take a short while before I got every old game installed, plus since these games are only JCink.com/IPB compatible they will have no more high scoring
-
I beat kevin. Yay!
-
I tried to use the games but I got this error:"You are not allowed to play games!".
-
Because you must have an average of 1 post per day on Omnimaga forums to be able to play (altough admins are exempt due to the nature of SMF). Currently you got 0.833
-
Looks like the arcade system might be a bit bugged. I am unable to play also and i have 1.44 posts per day average. :'( Necro has less than one per day and he can access them. Something is screwy lol.
-
dang it, time to start posting every day...
-
yeah I'm noticing that. Maybe it counts posts from the past 24 hours though, meaning even if you posted 90 times a day before, you still need to post once per day afterward x.x
If It gets too bad I will disable the post a day requirement and just make it a fixed post count, like: you need 50 posts to use the arcade.
Also what I hate about SMF mods is that most of the time they come with no documentation. This arcade is one prime example
-
hmm, any chance you'll add a rpg/shop mod?
-
If they ever make one for SMF that is decent enough or if I can find one then I might do it.

i'd agree with this, because some days i just want to chill and not say anything. because no topic required my input at the time >_>
-
well to be fair, I would have prefered if the mod post a day feature was based on the average, so people who contributed regulary can still play even after a short inactivity. So for now I changed it so you need 50 posts in total to be able to use the arcade. The same thing was planned on the old board when I talked about having Omnimaga RPGs walkthroughs and secrets section (altough we never got one)
Basically i was planning to have these features reserved to active and contributing members, kinda like prenium features
-
oooh, omni, nice one with starcraft, i was totally not expecting it. that was the PERFECT place XD
-
Well looks like I got some work to do...I like having the arcade, it gives you something else to do when you come to the forums. I also think that is pretty unique in the ti community. A lot of people try to compete post wise, game wise and in other ways this gives them something else that they can really compete at without disrupting the forums.
-
Alright, I'll give it a try now. =)
-
Yayz! New arcade! I loved the old one.
-
I think there's one on TICALCS forums (ticalcs.net), IIRC I gave some game files to them back when we installed the original arcade) but the site isn't very active anymore :(
-
Ill try it out, good idea with the post count requirement ;)
-
Yeah I guess ticalcs do have one, but yeah I rarely check them out.
-
Oh and Calchaven too I think, but when they did it stopped being a calc site x.x, which sucked because i liked going there, especially when they had the Metroid 68k project by Bcherry
-
oh yeah bcherry I remember that metroid it looked sick.
-
@Madskillz have you seen lachprog's 68k metroid in progress @ TI-freakware? That looks positivley delicious! ^_^ On topic, I like the arcade. It's a pretty neat way to pass the time if the forums are quiet, and it's fun to try for a highscore. I'd like to see more games added in the future. =)
-
ROFL I should have known better...I LOVE STARCRAFT!!!
-
yeah I caught lachprogs screenshots last night...I am really looking forward to see what he can do. Every project he has done thus far is top of the line I wouldn't expect anything else.
-
True I am happy he picked up on a Metroid project. Altough I am happy to have done the second Metroid ever after Zeromus/CDI's, mine being a sequel of his, I feel kinda bad that they are the only ones avaliable for calculators and on top of that they are limited to 15 MHz models, being too slow for a regular 83+. Same for a finished Zelda. There are only one non-ARPGCS Zelda avaliable for calculators that is an action-based adventure-RPG style game and the only good Zelda that is an ARPGCS is only avaliable in french. I hope Spencer finishes his ASM one and that eventually someone makes a 68k version.
I feel bad in advance for the people who will get their post count up to 50 just to play the Starcraft game
