Sorry for the inconvinience - my server suddenly got unavailable, this means several omnimaga services are unavailable until i look into it (I'll do that tomorrow, i'll have to find my admin pannel passwd)
Withunder these services:
- omnimaga image uploader (also the hosted images)
- omnimaga radio (as if somepony uses it :P)
- the so-often used irc bots (like 'test' and '@google')
- other stuff I forgot?
-
That sucks. D: I hope you had backups just in case.
-
/me hopes they aren't permanently gone O.O. Any clue what happened and if a fix is possible? (Unlike Jim bauwens server in 2012)
Is OmnomIRC affected btw? (I can't check right now on Tapatalk)
-
OmnomIRC seems to be fine, but CloudFlare is forcing a 5-second delay on load (for DDoS protection O.O).
-
OmnomIRC is not on my server.
And I also got good news: my server is back up again (i didn't have to do anything at all!)
And I have no idea what caused it......

Maybe your hosting service had problems ? Logs will probably give you some hints.

Which logs? :P
I usually don't log >.<
-
Lol that's too bad then. :P
-
Ok, i checked my admin pannel and according to my provider it was a DNS Amplification Attack
-
Is it some form of DDoS attack? But glad the server's back up.
-
Yeah, the DNS servers are used to magnify the messages, with a bandwidth of 100mbit/sec you could reach like 10 gbit/sec to attack your server.....kinda evil
-
Well, damn. o.o
-
yeah, people are so clever when it comes to attacks.....and that was the problem: some server of my provider was attacked, unlickley it was mine, and they had to shut their dns server down to prevent that.
-
Wow that sucks. I hope it doesn't happen again >.<
By the way wouldn't it be a better idea to enable logs but limit their size, so they don't risk filling up your disk space?
-
i think nginx itself still logs, but in all the nginx configs i didn't define logs.
Also I don't like looking through log files, they are too big >.<
BTW: the new-posting-bot once crashed due to not being able to log to the file, the hdd was full XD (thus that bot doesn't log anymore ^^)

Glad it's back :) It sucks when people decide to do something stupid like that.
