TI-Nspire Downgrade Problems
« on: September 17, 2015, 09:00:59 pm »
HELP ME! I downgraded my TI-Nspire's software from 3.9.1 to 3.6. It was all working and everything. I then installed Ndless, which had a successful installation. But when I unplugged the calculator from the computer, it shut off. When ever I try to turn it back on, it resets, and when it gets to the home screen, it shuts off. I already tried to reset it and it did not help.  I used the downgrade fix 391, instead of the downgrade fix 390.  What should I do to fix it?  The calculator works perfectly fine when plugged into the computer, but when I unplug it, the device turns off.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?

You should either change the batteries or charge it (depending on the model). Sounds like a power problem more than anything.

Okay, I'll try that, but what if that doesn't work? Oh, I forgot to mention, it is a TI-Nspire CX.

There's no problem with the battery itself.
It's a known fact that if your calculator was shipped with 3.9.1, you can't go back to previous versions, because the hardware is sufficiently different enough not to be supported by previous OSes related to battery etc.
Your only choice is to go back to 3.9.1 and install ndless 3.9 if you need it.

The only way I could fix it was upgrading to 4.0... So now I have to wait for Ndless to be released for that version, or what?

What even the 3.9.1 wouldn't transfer ? Only the 4.0 worked ?

3.9.1 should have worked indeed. This specific process happened to a few people, and were able to go back to 3.9.1...
But anyway, yes, now you're stuck with v4.0

What's the hardware revision of your calculator, out of curiosity ? It's the last character of the serial number on the back of the device.

Well, I actually did not try installing 3.9.1.  Could someone give me a link for Ndless 3.9.1?

The hardware revision letter is T.

Well now it's too late. Adriweb told you in his post to put 3.9.1 so you could have Ndless but you decided to put the only OS that is not Ndlessable and from which you can't go back.

No, 4.0.0.235 sets the minumum version to itself.

Oh boy! Now I'll never be able to play Pokemon!

Well, maybe if Ndless comes out for 4.0.0.235.

Well I still don't understand how you managed to think that installing 4.0 was a good idea if you used something called "downgradefix" to install 3.6, which obviously means that there are downgrade protections.
