Title: Temporarily On Hold
Post by: Quigibo on March 24, 2010, 02:13:38 pm
I am going to have to dedicate this entire week/weekend to studying for a very important test; the Caltech Entrance Exam which is notoriously difficult.  I am going to been staying at school from 8 in the morning to 10 at night as I have already been doing this week.  I'm just letting everyone know, and this is why I am going to try to not return to this forum until Sunday evening because its a distraction.  I haven't worked on Axe since Sunday and there is no way I am going to get anything done this week so the next update won't be until the following week.

Ouch I wish you luck in your test. I know school can be hard sometimes and demanding. Don't let other stuff be too much of a distraction.

Good luck on that test!  You are now informally banned from Omnimaga until Monday.

Lol, no :P

Altough once, as a joke, someone on IRC had homework to do, and was side-tracked by the chatroom, then he told someone to ban him until next morning if he said one more line of text :P. Finally he didn't say anything, though :P

Hello again everyone.  I am officially back.  I've finished my testing and I've finished moving into my new place which also means I have internet at home again :D.

I'm going to re-prioritize the upcoming features so that games will be able to be actual, directory quality, fully complete games.  I have already been beyond impressed with what I have seen so far, but I still need to add some basic features like saving, loading, title screens, and shell support that are essential to what I would consider "complete" games.  Its not that every game needs these features to be complete, some don't, but I need to at least support them in a simple way without needing asm() commands so that at least the programmer has those options.

I am expecting this to take about 2 weeks.  After that, I will release a beta to the public.  I will also try to add some more safety features and parsing options.  Glad to be back!

Title screens might be a big plus, especially complex ones. And yeah I think the new features should be mostly the ones people have been looking for the most, so the language may look almost complete. One big thing that Axe needs atm IMHO is saving to external files (or inside the prog) and loading.

Btw, once you release to ticalc, are you planning to link to Omnimaga (and specify to go to the Axe subforum) for people who need help? I would maybe suggest this since this sub-forum contains a lot of info and routines that people might find useful. But don't link directly to Axe subforum or download thread, unless you warn people that the location may change, because there are slim chances that eventually the old board posts are merged with this database, which may bump up all newer topics and subforums, causing all direct links to them to no longer work (or link to the wrong sub-forums).

Also I hope you had fun in your break and stuff
