With the world in ruins after the loss of the 4 crystals there seems to be no hope for life to survive on the planet...civilization is forced underground as the atmosphere withers...the surface chills and the core slows. The water evaporates and the ground faults...the prophecies tell of 2 brothers born in darkness and killed in light...

...one will run and one will fight. Like flowers in the evening sun, the darkness and the light. The time will near they will be born into fear. Let the monsters be with us...

Sound nice, you should add some (not necessarely long) events in this sequel to spice up the game so itsa not only fighting and you should have more than one map as well. :)smile.gif

I hope Theta Fourtheen and your other projects arent dropped forever tho O_Oshocked2.gif

Okay... I have a plan... that includes "dungoen rooms" and alotta bosses... and a ending sequence made... (well... I need a sprite for the speed attribute but I'll do that lator)

6 total character sprites (15x15) for battle, the sprite you have depends on your most prominite attribute.
A "story" and "dungoens" to battle in!
8 "rings" to change your attributes, one of em can only be acquired after you beat the game.
No leveling up! You add "StatPoints" to your attributes to make your character better!
I've acually finished the ending sequence and animation... it's awsome!

wow sound nice, this is going to be one of the greatest RPG so far, keep up the good work. Will the ring allow to do different special attacks and suchs as well?

do u mean they will protect against some attacks? (I really get to put that kind of stuff in my games I dunno why I never did it yet)

here's a discription (you "pulled" it out of me :)smile.gif)

1 - Increased strength
2 - Increased speed
3 - 2x Fire Damage
4 - 2x Ice Damage
5 - 2x Lit Damage
6 - .75 Damage taken
7 - 2x Normal Attack
8 - Double attack (2 turns for every one of your enemies)

ah nice. Will there be that kind of ultimate ring that have a 33% chance of instantly killing enemies (not bosses tho) instead of doing them damage?  *cough*looks at Omega Sword in Illusiat 12*cough*

you should get at least a 83+ (or maybe a 84+ if you weant to play TI-city) because there are great RPGs on it and some First person shooter like Gemini and Wolfeinstein 83+, but of course its only if you are willing to pay $100 for a new calc ;)wink.gif .

See, back when I joined maxcoderz I wanted to create a Omnimaga: Your TI-calc FPS Headquarter site :Dbiggrin.gif but then ppl stopped releasing FPS for the 83+ so I gave up on the idea and decided to only create a RPG website

Hrm... Okay there will be 2 diffrent mondters per "area" and a boss monster per "area" and you can walk up to the boss and fight at any time... so the little ones are there to get you better to kill the boss... so that's 18 "mini bosses" 2 "mega bosses" and 38 monsters... and literally an infinite number of characters to make!

10th Boss...

Now the fun part... If you so disre you can make a boss (yay!) but I only need about 15 so you can enter 2 at the most :)smile.gif The constraints are... no bigger than 50x50, facing left, please strict B&W only... no checkered patterns... I have to make a program that draws these... and it can be no smaller than 20x20...

Well the point of the orignal A Dot RPG was to make a LONG game in pure BASIC... and I did, so I'm doing it again... As for pxl-off... I only use Line(, pt-on(, and pt-off( commands based on a x number and a y number so I can use the character sprites and the boss/enemy sprites out of battle :Pblah.gif

will they be archived, because with many lines commands it might take a lot of memory? Also you should at least use an asm lib to run archived programs or unarchive/archive them because then you could make this game very long, more features and more graphics. beign limited to 24 KB isnt a big deal

EDIT: just one more thing, I was just remembering the release date of CRPGN (july 7th), is it dead? O_Oshocked2.gif:(sad.gif

Kevin... #1 was only 10000b big I still have at least another 10000 to work with!... plus the prgm to make the 6 character sprites is only 1.2kb big... also... I'm probably going to save the bosses and enemies in lists, then use a program to read the lists and draw the sprite... then I can archive/un-archive the list!

or that. But still if you want to make a uber long game with over 40 dungeons with more than 1500 rooms (like illusiat 12) its still a good idea to use Flash gordon ;)wink.gif

Okay all the characters are in list form... but they load slowly :(sad.gif same goes for the enemies... I'm going to try and get a pic of the game up sometime soon...

OOH Title done! the credits scroll under the title when you start the game... so far I have me (duh!) and the inspired bys (Kevin, TI-Freak, and tr1p1ea)

Okay updates!!! yayayayayayay!

instead of the old style of gameplay I'm using a FPV kind of gameplay... (think Ultima 1 or Akalabeth) also the dungeons will be 26x26 big, and saved in lists then de-compressed! Speaking of lists this is a list of the things that'll be stored in lists :Pblah.gif

this paves the way for my next announcement...

KORDEV!!!

KORDEV is a development package that you can D/L for the game... you run KORSETUP to setup the lists for the game, then you can run KORDEV and acually make your own RPG using the KOR engine!!!! this allows for not only unlimited choices in the included game (A Dot RPG 2) but then another batch of unlimited choices on countless other games!!! After making a game you can then save it to a series of lists (about 10 lists) and send it to an archive so someone else can D/L it then un-compress it and play it! sweet!

w00t updates, sound nice, I think this might be a good idea since I alerady saw somekind of Doom RPG earlier on a french TI-82 website and it was quite nice. That also sound a bit like Zilak Ex: The Vinera chronicles style :)smile.gif

Heh the funny thing is this'll acuallt make the engine more powerful because it'll have more space to do things in :Dbiggrin.gif the levlels and such can be archived in BASIC cause they're lists, that'll free up a good 5000+b :Dbiggrin.gif

Okay... I garuntee KOR on 12-24-05 (mm-dd-yy) and I have some news... I have alot of the battle engine done as of now... byt here's a choice... I can make a battle engine that has AI for your character, meaning that you have to make a decision on how your character acts (i.e. "Attack full force", "Heal at 25% HP", or things like "Run") that way all you have to do is watch and distrubite SP! (err... SP are "Stat Points" that you add to uour character)

hmm sdound like a cool idea, this reminds me of Final Fantasy X-3 for the 82 or Lunar for the Playstation but you should also keep an option to manually attack as well so ppl can decide what to do (use AI or not) :)smile.gif

Well to save space (as I do for alot of things) I'll have 2 programs for the battle engine... one has AI the other not... you just put the one you want on your calc! easy!

this would be cool if there was also difficulty levels, so if you put a program on the calc enemies are normal and if you put the other one they are harder. Also maybe something like star ocean/pokemon would be cool, I mean that if u put a program on the calc you'll play as a certain character and if u put the other one you'll play as another one with a slighly different story :)smile.gif
