Title: My first 68k project - snake
Post by: Sorunome on March 06, 2013, 07:56:44 pm
Hey, today I found in school a ti 92 with that one program I programmed months ago - snake (found as in i sent it to like 20 calcs of the 50 we have)!
I didn't hesitate to send it to my 89 to be able to show you guys, unfortunatley I don't have any screenies as I don't know any 68k emulator D:
I adjusted the screen size to the 89, i know that it is kinda crappy, but oh well, and somehow the collision detection if you hit yourself isn't working ??? (it used to, thought, maybe that is a older version I 'found')

So, the files are attached, send all 4 to the calc, the lists must be in ram.

w00t, looking nice!
How do you make them?
With an emulator?
Which one do you use?

Emulator... TiEmu, since you're wondering.

I wonder how quickly it runs.

Not bad, I am curious about the speed as well.

I don't know how fast this particular snake program runs, but TIEmu can run far above normal speed, even though its default setting is obviously to restrict the speed to real calculator speed.

Just a question: Is there a TI-89 emu out there that allows animated GIF screenies?

TiEmu doesn't (to my knowledge)

You can record the screen with screen capture software. ;)

I don't know of one that does animated GIFs though...

I use CalcCapture (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/290/29024.html) for that. It works pretty well ! :)

Archlinux!
ANd thanks guys, the speed is quicker than on the 92 (non-plus) so i was surprised when i put it on my 89, it is rather fast at the beginning but if your like 20 long it'll be like 1 step/sec

Yep, CalcCapture works pretty well for grayscale screenshots. Just play with the settings until you get the right speed.

Otherwise there's CamStudio which makes AVI files then you can use VirtualDub, but VirtualDub's animated GIFs are incredibly large (a 1 minute long screenshot can be between 25 MB large)
