Are you prepared for pi day? Have you even remembered it? You now only 6 days. Now is your chance to do something special. For me, I to memorize pi. Last year I did 50 and this year I did 100 digits. Here, I even made a cute program you can test your skills and hone your talents to memorize even more. (Sadly, it only goes to 100 digits.) Hope you learn more than you ever have by Thursday!
DID YOU KNOW:
The record for memorization of pi is 42,195?

Who would manage to memorize so many pi digits O.o
My record is only 108 :P (i already forgot some)

It was a Savant who has the ability to see the solutions of equasions in his head as symbols.
Stuff you learn about on the Science channel :P

Meh, I don't watch TV :P But still, it is impressive.

Meeeh... My record was 263, but I can only recall 230 now. And my original plan was to get to 762 digits!
Wish my brain was like those people.

/me wishes he knew more digits of pi

I'm at about 6 digits. I've never tried to memorize it.

I know something like 14 digits. Which is pretty much the precision of a TI-83+.

That was quite the marathon.

I know like 40 digits... That record is insane O.o

I only worked my way up to 194 digis. On the other hand, I can commit strings of numbers to memory in a few minutes. I haven't reached my limit yet, but when I was trying to memorise more digits of pi, it took me a few minutes (about 5) to commit a 48 digit chunk to memory and then I went to the next chunk :D If you do the math, you will see that that amounts to 4 chunks plus a few digits. Only the first three chunks have stuck, though, and it has been a few months since I have tried to memorise it. My goal was to have 10000 memorised by now, but school got in the way .__. I made a program to quiz me and it has 1000 digits :D

The world record of 42,195 took about 16 hours to recite.
