I've recently downloaded tiboy, but every rom i compiled was much larger than the total amounth of memory available(even with no programs on it).
So are there actually some game boy games that fit on a ti-84 plus, or do ti-boy games only fit on a silver edition calc?
-
Ok so I think you need to delete some APPs on your calculator for it to work
-
with nothing on it i still haven't got enough mem
-
That is odd hmm uh what games are you using? some dont work
-
I tried almost every game on the support list
-
How much free archive does the memory management menu say you have? I'm thinking you may just have a really low amount free, and Gameboy ROMs are quite large.
-
I have tested them with wabbitemu using a rom from my calculator, so I know that with nothing in the memory, i have 557056 bytes free, while kirby's dreamland for example, is almost 700kb large, and link's awakening over 1500kb. So does tiboy only run on silver edition calcs, or do i just get my roms from a really bad place?
I haven't yet tested any tiboy game on my real calc, i was just trying to get them to work with wabbitemu, so i'll know if it would work
-
Try it on a real calc or try I cant say what website sorry
-
Shouldn't wabbit react exactely the same to games as your real calc when you use your own rom?
-
there are some hardware differences that make them not quite the same
-
It says i haven't got enough ram, even after successfully executing the fix program
I think there is really no way to run tiboy on my calc, but thanks for helping anyway

Use ti-boy SE pre release topic to find a beta 0.1.05 = best not alpha 0.0.3 use beta 0.1.05
-
Yep, as annoyingorange said, your best option is to use the latest beta release in this topic (http://ourl.ca/10477). By the way, 8xk files are always much larger on the PC than on the calculator. For example, Kirby's Dreamland is really 294912 bytes (in the alpha version anyway -- in the beta version it's 16384 bytes smaller). Also, the conversion tool included in the beta tells you the real size on the calculator after conversion.

(too lazy to create my own topic so I just steal this one :P)
So, I tried to convert the GameBoy rom Tennis and it didn't work. The converter successfully opens the rom and asks me to input a name but when I type "Tennis" and press enter, it says "makeapp stopped working" ???
I tried with drag-and-dropping the rom onto makeapp.exe, with directly lauching makeapp.exe, and with typing "makeapp Tennis.gb Tennis" in the cmd prompt in the right folder, every method give the same error.
(Note that this Tennis rom has a gb extension, not a gbc one)
What's the problem ?

bump ?
(calc84 seems to check every TI-Boy topic except this one :P)

Maybe it is because you stole the topic :P

Yeah, maybe he doesn't check this thread because he already solved the initial question. I guess I'll post my question elsewhere.
