Title: What is the practical difference between the TI-84 Plus and Silver?
Post by: dogman on April 30, 2015, 09:50:35 am
Hi,

I'm not understanding what the real difference between these units is. ticalc.org says that although the Silver has more RAM, only 24K of RAM is user-accessible.

Is this true even when programming in Z80 assembly? The Silver is much more expensive. What do I lose by buying a regular 84+ and not getting the Silver model?

Thanks.

Flash memory is the archive memory, so where you store the apps and, optional, programs and other things.
The 84+ has about 500KB and the 84+SE has about 1500KB

Oh, thanks. 500K sounds like a fair ton of memory though. Is there a Linux app to transfer files to and fro?
