Title: In need of a complete guide for Boot2 Downgrade.
Post by: Pupilliam on January 14, 2014, 09:52:00 pm
Hey guys! I just purchased a new TI-Nspire CX that had some form of the TI operating system installed on it (I didn't check, as I didn't think know that there were OS limitations for Ndless, my stupid fault)
So, I searched around for a guide for RS-232 downgrade of Boot2 and couldn't find any good or complete guide outlining the process of Boot2 downgrade. I'm very sure that my calculator is old enough to support the old Boot2 code (P-1112G).
If anybody could either point me to a guide that has already been made, or for the people with the time could make one, that would be amazing for me and a lot of other people!
Thank you very much,

-Pupilliam

Hi, welcome to the forums. :)

First of all, which OS and Boot2 version do you have? Just making sure.

This is the hardware you need (only available online, such as Ebay):

As for the guide, I think this is what you need http://ourl.ca/20292/371533

There is an official one on TI-Planet, but I forgot where, since I don't use the Nspire much these days.

Duh. Should've posted that in my original post.
Boot2: 3.2.4.7
OS: 3.6.0.546
Thank you for the guide! I will check it out.

The instructions in the guide are extremely vague. Would you be able to give me more of a comprehensive guide for the file transfer?

I would need help with the cables between PC and the Calc. How do you connect it safely?

E: Now my only problem is with the file transfer..
