Title: Shunledge for nSpire
Post by: compu on February 12, 2011, 05:21:20 pm
Shunledge

In this game you have 3 seconds time to memorize holes in the ground before it disappears in a cloud.
Then you have to reach the other side by jumping over these holes.

Controls:
Right/6 - Move forward
Up/8/Ctrl - Jump

The project page at nspforge can be found here (http://nspforge.unsads.com/p/shunledge/).

I still need a new cloud sprite. If you want to create it for me look here. (http://ourl.ca/9168)

Very nice!  It is wonderful to see more and more Nspire games being produced!

I posted my shot at a stone texture in your other thread.  I know it is terrible, but I though I would take a try at it :)

Nice, It would be nice to see some backgrounds and different looking sprites in future versions.

So, here is the first graphical update:

- Ground texture replaced (Thanks to apcalc)
- Cloud texture replaced (still looks weird :-\)

Cool, for clouds you could maybe ask in the pixel art sub-forum, although I am unsure if our pixel artists are busy right now.

Thanks! :)
Yes, it doesn't look completely stupid anymore ;D

The thing, though, is that making certain types of sprites is a major hassle. I remember it took me 2 months to make all sprites for The Reign of Legends 3 and that was with 8x8 monochrome. For a 16x16 sprite it takes me an entire day. O.O

Shunledge* :P

Thanks, I will upload the source when I'm back from school  ;)

Btw, the link at http://nspforge.unsads.com/p/meta/wiki/RegisteredProjects (http://nspforge.unsads.com/p/meta/wiki/RegisteredProjects) is broken.

EDIT: Works now.

Very nice game
But sometimes the wholes are to big or they're on the first tile, so it's impossible to win

Yes, I know, I'm sorry for that... I don't have the time to fix this at the moment, I'm ill since almost one week and I haven't been at my computer since tuesday :w00t:
But it's getting better, maybe I can fix that tomorrow ;)

I ran this game under Ndless 1.7 and it crashed my calculator. Does it require the Ndless 2.0?

Sorry to hear Compu, I hope you feel better soon.

@GB welcome on the forums too, and I think you need Ndless 2.0 beta.

Finally I fixed the level generation, so levels should be random on real hardware now, too.

Awesome! Do you think the new version will be available soon?

EDIT: Nvm it is, I'll probably download it now to try it.

EDIT: It's kinda nice. For some reasons jumping around seems a bit strange, though. Is it intended to be like that or did you plan to add jumping in the style of Mario in the future?

Also  I lost the game D:

I know, it looks a bit... stupid. Maybe I will add a more realistic jump.
