Title: TI-Nspire Mouse Glitch
Post by: GB on March 12, 2011, 02:44:38 pm
A few years ago, I found out a funny little glitch on the TI-Nspire that lets you use the mouse cursor in My Documents. I forgot about it till recently. I've tested it on systems 1.2-2.1, and others have tested it to work in 3.0.
Here's how to do it.

Step 1: Make a new document (don't save it).
Step 2: Add just a Graphs & Geometry.
Step 3: Switch over to Plane Geometry View.
Step 4: Open "My Documents" while the unsaved document is still open.
Step 5: Delete "Unsaved Document".
Step 6: Press [Ctrl] and [Z] to undo the deletion.

You should now see the little mouse cursor on the Documents screen. You can move it around and click on things.

Cool! Are these character numbers in Unicode?

Nice, how'd you figure out the special chars?

In the Hints section which I got to from the Home window, I found some weird symbols. So I copied them and pasted them in a Calculator window and used the "Ord(" command to find the numbers they corresponded with.

Interesting, I should give this a try when I have a minute. I got OS 2.0 though so Idk if this will work.

sorry for that bump, but I just tested it and it still works on OS 3.0 :)

I just found that it works in 2.0 and 2.1 as well.
