Title: Code Zombie for the +CSE
Post by: AssemblyBandit on November 18, 2013, 05:28:59 am
Here's a mockup of the game coming out after Jumper and Mario. Its called Code Zombie and its inspired by Sean Conners' Nazi Zombies. I know its early, but its looking good so far!

What do you do in this game?

Interesting. Will this be a bit like Nightmare or whatever it was called by Builderboy, but without fog of war?

Zombies enter the room that you are in and you must kill them all to get to the next level. If they bite you too many times, you die. There might be more of a plot as I start working on the game.

Thanks tr1p1ea! Since I suck at pixel art, I created a 3d model of a room in Sketchup then used printscreen and some resizing to get the room to scale. I also added some blood stains to make it look all crazy. The image above is actually only half of the screen, it scrolls around as you walk across the room! Attached is the full room and the 3d model I created.

Maybe the HP Prime could handle such 3D? *.*

That said, I doubt I would be the one doing it, since I tend to prefer making my own games unless very small (like Tunnel). :P

Also interesting project idea. This will definitively be fun to play. :D

please don't "necropost" (that is, post in an old topic when you have nothing new to add.)

Welcome back stranger. You might want to specify in the topic title that this is for the CSE, since the CE is out now as well.

Whoooooaaa...  :o i wish i could post a voice message to share my amazement! It's looking really cool, i love the walking animations, and the background is beautiful! I was really hoping this was you coming back out of the blue and not another necropost :D

Welcome back, the speed looks great even with a bunch of zombies walking around at a time. Once again, i'm really impressed, can't wait to see how this develops!

Hola! So far it features a decent size map, a shotgun with rounds that lose power over distance, and awesome graphics.

I can't believe this isn't getting more responses, this is looking really great! The animations look amazing, too. Is the artwork all done by you, too?

The artwork is from google /google maps (NY streets). Someone who lives in Manhattan may recognize a building! The character animations are from a game development site and may change (but I do like them as is.) The location images were mostly taken from google.

I also like the character animations. I never would've even thought of using Google Maps for the background, that's a really cool idea. I'm not sure where Kerm lives, in New York somewhere, but it'd be funny if Kerm's house appeared in a Zombie calc game :P

I originally just wanted to have an infinite scrolling background so I grabbed a couple of buildings to flip flop but it was too plain running along this infinite street so I set it to loop in a 'map' with more buildings so that the character actually gets somewhere. It would be funny if someone recognized a building. (Fun fact: The jail image is actually a school!)
