Croquet 83+ is a Croquet game for the 83+/84+ series of calculators. It features a complete 1-6 player croquet game, with both human controllable players and 9 levels of ai.

Dude that looks pretty cool. That's very original but I would use Xlib to make more killer graphics unless you want to use pure basic but that game looks promising I would keep up the work.

In case you dont know about my reputation for this yet, I will not make an xLib based program. nothing agains xLib, its a great utility, but I prefer to challenge myself by working within the limits.

Btw in pure basic you'll have no chance to get it fast, scrolling and with good graphics! If you don't want to learn the (very tiny) xLIB-stuff ask someone...

that is a blatant lie. and if somebody decides they want to do it in pure Basic then make sure you respect that. its a decision to learn by working within the limits of the language. sort of like writing a sonnet. sure you can make a great poem freestyle, but by constraining yourself to the sonnet form you force yourself to work harder and it can still come out beautiful.

quoted from a post by me on UTI.

I hope that wasn't too harsh, and thanks for the complement.

O_Oshocked2.gif  Looks amazing for being done in pure Basic. I agree that working within the limits does challenge yourself, and I highly respect you for finding ways to make things work in Basic. I'll download it, just to see how it works, but I'm not going to get that into it (no offense) simply because I have NO idea whatsoever how to play croqet  -.-blah.gif

Nah that wasn't harsh I agree with you 100% it's way harder because pre-Xlib I used to make pure BASIC games then Xlib came out and I was like I'm not using that because it's not ASM but then one day I just gave in and now I'm addicted but I think this is gonna make me port Galactic to pure BASIC

Woah that is really awsome especially 'cause you made it from pure-dee TI-BASIC (Yeehaw!).

Croquet's fun though.  knock people's balls away.  And it is possible to win in maybe 1 turn?

@Liazon: if you go last its possible......sorta kinda. if you are really good.

and I have included rules to Croquet along with it, and I have to say that string maps take up a lot less space than matrix based maps, and hex based sprites (or my Line() sprites that I use for my tilemapper for that matter) take up a lot less space then Pic variables.
