So I've been working on a game where the object is simple! get past the weird block shaped objects before the reappear! OH and YOU ARE A CAR! well looks more like a truck! Any way, here is a screenie, but the actual game won't be released until about a week or two from now, it needs more levels! It's actually quite fun to play!
-
Oooooh, nice idea! Can't wait to see how you work this out :D
-
level three is hard, even for me!
-
Maybe you can update the sprite. And add scrolling. And maybe even hills!
One more suggestion:
Gaps in the floor with spikes where you can only pass when there is a block underneath you
-
What do you think the sprite should look like? and I like the spikes and floors idea! That way the goal of the first 3 levels is to avoid the blocks, but then you need them!
-
The sprite should be a ball. The blocks should be like those spikey blocks in mario that fall down from the ceiling. (but without the face). Of course the blocks that you need to go over do not have spikes.
-
MMM, I think I like the car :P and the weird boxs. but I might use the going over the blocks idea. thanks
edit: I'm changing the boxs, but keeping the face! screenie in a sec :)
edit2:SCREENIE! NEW BOXS!
-
Looks okay. I still think you should change the car to a ball since then, you can do hills.
-
Well, i would, but the game I got this idea from had a car, and I really liked the car. and im not sure about hills, considering how small each level is. it's more a puzzle and timing challenge, then an action based game. But I do appreciate the idea in the spike sided boxs!
-
But you can make a puzzle and timing challenge using hills I guess... Tilemaps aren't that big either
-
EHH, maybe. but for now I'm gonna just work on this. Besides, I'm terrible at tilemapping
-
I really need to learn tilemapping. I dont really understand the tutorial.
-
That looks pretty cool. Keep the good work up.
-
I can help you if you want. ( I create tilemaps + drawing engines all the time)
-
THANKS! :)
-
Just send the files to me when you need the engine.
-
for the tilemapping?
-
Yep. Should be a piece o' cake for me.
-
I appreciate the offer, but If I use tilemapping, I think I might want to do it myself... like a learning experience!
-
Oh okay. There are plenty of tutorials around.
-
Now I'm starting to understand the tilemapping tutorials (somewhat)
-
Have you seen nemo's tutorial?
Also the best way to learn is try, try, try.
-
nah I didn't see that one! i'll go check it out!
-
Where's nemo's tutorial?
-
I can't find it!
-
Me neither.
-
Can I have a link to nemo's tutorial?
-
I am looking for it.
-
thanks
-
Sorry, I cannot find it. Should I write a quick tutorial?
-
Yes please!
-
ok so here is an update! I can't decide between three menus!
menu1-black
menu2-tiled
menu3-strobe
Which do you all like!
Here are the screenies in order!
-
The second looks pretty nice!
-
Yeah the third is a little obnoxious but it's cool, right now the program is set so if you press mode, it inverts everything, so holding it has the strobe effect!
-
The third one is not good for epilepsy :P but beautiful (better if the flashing was random).
The second looks pretty nice!
The first one is simple and efficient
That doesn't help choosing, sorry :P
-
lol not really :P
right now it's all three with the mode option
-
Second one is pretty cool. The third one could work but just need to flash less often. Much less often.
-
They idea is its a stobe light effect, but yeah it is a little too crazy :)
here is it slower
-
Or do #2 and when you click an option, it strobes for a sec, then continues.
-
@saintrunner it'd be even better if it was slower than that. Experiment with strobe speeds.
@epic7 I think that combination can work
PS: Whoah I've posted a lot today.
-

OH I like that!
edit: well i'm keeping menu 2! It seems the best! And I'll probably use the strobe later!
But here is the game file so far, and I'm going to add an ending screen, then I'll upload it to omnimaga and ti calc! :) happy gaming!
EDIT: IT...HAS...BEEN..RELEASED!
