Finished my game I was working on for the last 11 months or so. started late JAN'08. try it out, give me feedback, enjoy. Questions/Comments feel free to ask. Instructions on installation and such are located in the game.
Notes:
Text Based RPG. Very long, and plenty of secrets to find. Multiple endings. Even has minigames inside of it. The game is finishable, don't complain about difficulty. You don't have to grind to finish the game either (Although just for the first chapter getting two levels is usually a good idea.)
You may look at the code if you want, play with the code, examine the code, breathe the code, lick the code, even take the code out on a date. BUT be sure to give credit if you make anything from it. (IE you use a piece of it for your own project.)
This took me a long time to make, and I'm sure you all will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Potter Quest
PS, if you search for potter quest on TIcalc.org you'll find the beta for this, but also the very first potter quest game ever made, written when my friend Micah and myself were back in the 6th or 7th grade. There are actually two more games in that "trilogy" of Potter Classic, somewhere on floppy drives in my attic.

Ooh nice, glad you finished this, I'll have to play it further at one point when I get some time. It might take a while though since I got over 50 RPGs to test, some of which (including this one?) might eventually land in the Omnimaga archives once they are back.
Don't worry about ticalc.org though, they recently switched file archiving teams and the new one (one member being Calcgames admin) is pretty fast and upload stuff every day or two :)
-
if you do decide to test it, lemme know if you find any bugs. I do believe I got them all, it works perfectly normal on my calculator, played through it twice already (Melee then "spell" caster.... ps, melee solo is actually kinda hard.) Hope you get around to it soon.

It's about time.
I'll try out your game once I find my calc again. I kind of have to clean up my room a bit... I haven't seen my calc in over 2 months :(

Heya trevmeister66(6)
(yeah it's about time. THey had FA problems since mid 2007 and in late 2007 the entire staff was inactive to the point where we thought ticalc.org was disbanding and were worried about POTY 2007. This year we expected a 2008 one but file archives were updated like once per 2 months sometimes)

Ah gotcha. Heh yeah I've been so busy with other things that I haven't had time to check any calc stuff :'( Hopefully I can find some time to at least test out some games. There's a lot that look promising.

anyone finish with 100% yet?

...I only played once.
Skipped to chapter 2, got owned, forgot what I was doing, and left to get a taco.

wabbitemu only lets me send about 100 files before the link times out. :(
so i wasn't even able to get past the title screen before i ran into a missing program
how much memory does the entire game use? maybe it would be better to package the game into an app with basicbuilder

x.x this sucks. I haven' got this problem with Zelda DLQ, altouhg I didn't played through it because of contrast/Z-Address issues in Wabbitemu, especially when screenshotting, though.
As for BasicBuilder since it's a text based game it might actually be a good idea, altough only if his game programs are in the RAM,else it defeats the point of using BASICBuilder when you have to spend hours converting every storepic commands to Storepic A, B, C, etc instead of Storepic 1, 2, 3 or if you still need to include a bunch of archived programs with the app (both are 2 of the 3 reasons why I didn't converted any of my games to BasicBuilder, the other reason being that I would have so many games to convert). UNfortunately most BasicBuilder fanboys didn't undertsand that because they were so narrow minded, to the point of harrassment. For huge games using pics I recommend Celtic III program merging abilities
