Hello,
I will no longer be working on this project. The source code is included if anyone wants to pick it up.
-
Woah that looks nice, too bad it died :(
I'll give this a try when I get some time.
-
Are the planes supposed to be grayscale (just asking because of the moving lines :P)? Sorry to hear you won't be working on it anymore though :( Hopefully someone can pick it up though :)
-
From what I remember the speed became the issue. I wish a solution could have been found, though, to keep it alive :(
Does it run at 15 Mhz btw?
-
Well wasn't this also created like quite a few versions ago? Maybe some new things could help, but I don't know. I don't remember the version it was on.
I would assume so, unless he was trying to make it universal so he was trying to push speed as much for 6MHz but that is what slowed down. He'd have to answer :(
-
I'm not sure anymore. I think this was his contest entry for a while, meaning version 0.2.6 or something. However, maybe you are right, idk. From a version to another, many things changed, but in some cases, it may not make any difference if a game is done using the latest version or an old one. Supersonic Ball would be perfectly fine with version 0.3.3.
-
Ya, I don't know. There might be new optimizations or something that could be done but ya. But I do think you're right about this being his contest entry originally, I think. Then it got to slow and such so he started work on AWTI (or TIAW?).
-
He lost AWTI progress (if I remember) then started working on this. later he revived AWTI and made Fuel a Cemetech-exclusive project. However, speed issues came up and he quit working on it.
-
Ah ok. Ya, I remember him losing some progress on AWTI. That all sounds about right.
-
It looks nice, but I see why you had to cancel it. I doubt if there's any more speed in it. :(
-
It is running at 15 MHz, and it is supposed to be grayscale, but speed issues were just too much. It might be useful for anyone trying to use movable size lists.
-
Ouch x.x. I guess it might have been pushing Axe a bit too far, then. X.x
Also another thing that seemed to hinder you in that game is stuff moving faster when fewer enemies are on the screen. I heard some people had troubles with this and I even noticed some ticalc.org games did too, like Galaxian.
-
anyone trying to use movable size lists.
hey, im doing just that! thanks! i love the explosion animations.
also, galaxian had speed issues?
-
Yeah. When there were many ships at once on the screen it ran about 1.5x slower
