Title: Galaxy Report
Post by: ralphdspam on July 01, 2011, 05:47:47 pm
Latest Update (7/4/11) (http://ourl.ca/11874/225318)

Original Post:
I have been working on this game for a while, but I have not yet made any formal announcement.

For the 2011 Axe contest, I am working on a shooting platformer.  I am developing a level editor, but it will not be ready for release.

I have a preview of the title screen (The fade effect does not work properly in Wabbit.)

I do already have a level engine, but I haven't made it "pretty" enough.  :P

Graphics are great! Title screen comes in a bit slow though, and that might annoy users who run the program repeatedly. I'd suggest a hotkey to skip the intro animations, or speed it up considerably.

Thanks for the feedback!  :D

Sure, I'll do that right now!

Nice title screen!
The moon in the top center looks suspiciously like a choclolate chip cookie though. :P/me looks for something to eat

I am sorry for the lack of updates, but I'm afraid I have some bad news.

A lot of events have been taking place IRL, and I haven't had much time to work on Galaxy Report.  I feel too stressed to try to finish the project entry before the deadline, which is less than two weeks away.  I would rather have a grand, amazing unveiling rather than a lukewarm, rushed release.

With that said, this project is not dead.  In fact, I have realized that I would do this game more justice with the freedom of ASM.  (I promise to release the source code. :))

Thank you for understanding.

Also, can a mod please remove the "Axe Contest Submission" part of the topic? Thanks.
