gCn + AXE = MOBA

In thought-process stages right now, but I have an idea for an AXE MOBA that uses gCn.

MOBAs are games such as League of Legends or DotA/DOTA 2

I am beginning an engine for the game now, and will need help (server, beta testers) in the future

So far, in terms of coding, I'm spriting and developing the engine

I recently posted this on Cemetech, and I will need programming minions to help me on this one, so I posted here!

I'm using the AXE gCn axiom located at: http://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&path=/83plus/asm/shells/modules/CALCNet%20Axiom%20Beta%200.0.4.zip

That certainly seems like a massively ambitious project; you'll probably want to think this through carefully before you start.

if you want people to help you out, it would also be a much better idea to first work out and test a method for synchronising two players movements via gcn, so you actually have something to show people, or people will just assume that you are proposing another of the thousands of "projects" that get a first post/new thread and then are dropped soon after when the time comes to actually write code. that sort of thing is ignored even more over on cemetech than it is here, too.

Cool idea. As the others have mentioned, sit down and plan things out first and test small things. It'll make it go a lot easier on you later on. :)

Thanks!!! I believe Cemetech actually hosts the whole gCn server, but if we can make a dedicated server, that would be awesome!!!

Cool idea. As the others have mentioned, sit down and plan things out first and test small things. It'll make it go a lot easier on you later on. :)

Currently I'm testing sending vars with the axiom.

Dedicated servering would require the use of gCn in a unique way, I'm thinking, so you two should both do servers. Why? Because we need to use the gCn client and *gasp* modify it to connect to a server for matchmaking...

Update: Movement engine: almost done, screenies soon
gCn understanding: greater, but still confuzzled

My idea: how about we (you, epic7, and me) make an engine that will run on gCn in general first, then we worry about matchmaking servers.
