Title: Multiple Game Pack
Post by: kalan_vod on April 19, 2006, 02:08:00 pm
What this is:
This game pack was inspired by elfprince13s' game http://www.unitedti.org/index.php?showtopic=4600&hl=frog+rpg. I saw him making a game with mini type games in it and I thought it would be cool to make my own type of pack with several games in it. After working on this a few days I was chatting with http://omnimaga.dyndns.org/ and he told me that he requested ticalc.org remove all his games, so I downloaded them. After I downloaded his games, I played a few for fun and saw his game http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/353/35346.html. When I saw this I was inspired once again to make a pack of games!

Things added:
-14 games
-3 difficulties on each mini game
-Several modes of play on each game

Planned:
-Included 25 or more games
-Single program
-Graphical menu

I have made a few games that are unique, but a few are my rendition and my code of some on ticalcs archives. I will include the programs separately also incase one wishes to have certain games.

Nice! What mini-games are / will be included?

sound pretty promising, I am curious about which game will be included with it. Are you making it pure BASIC?

Sounds cool.  I too wanna know what games are gonna be in it.

Well some of the games are remakes of games I seen on ticalc a long time ago, when I first started with calcs. And some are uniquely mine, which are my creations :Dbiggrin.gif. But I do get some ideas from others, which I will credit, and make a "better" version of them. And yes it will be pure basic! :Dbiggrin.gif

Feel free to inspire myself of mines, or even make them better ;)wink.gif Most of those are 4 years old or more, so their code isnt really the best :X

Yeah, but some of your ideas were and still are awesome! I think you did a great job with it, btw you used some kind of asm compressor program or something?
Title: Multiple Game Pack
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on April 21, 2006, 01:29:00 am
Thanks for the comments, nope I didnt used asm compressors. Back in 2002 than game pack was pure basic u could not have all part in rams at once, in 2004 I added Flash gordon in it. Besides that thats all pure and the SE pack is still pure if I remember

Yeah, I was looking more at it last night. I think you made a great game pack! Btw I will have some sort of update soon enough...

Post by: DJ Omnimaga on April 21, 2006, 01:27:00 pm
thanks for the comments, do you think you'll have a beta soon?
Title: Multiple Game Pack
Post by: kalan_vod on April 21, 2006, 01:54:00 pm
I think I will have a beta for a few people on IRC, but other than that it will be released soon enough. I have 1 week of school left + finals the week after, so I will not really do much in the next two weeks :(sad.gif

Post by: DJ Omnimaga on April 21, 2006, 03:23:00 pm
I understand how you feel, I think you should focus on final much instead of coding, I did that as well especially for french class
Title: Multiple Game Pack
Post by: kalan_vod on April 21, 2006, 03:26:00 pm
Yeah, well out of the four classes I have 3 have take home finals worth 50% of the final. The other 50% is in class finals.

Update [05/02/06]:
This is coming real close to a release!

Things added:
-11 games
-Started on the menu system, looking for the best method of mine

Planned:
-Add a few more games
-Make a graphical menu
-Add a game description or just keys for each game, although I believe it is self explanitory
-Release

Well the total size of the one program with all the mini games inside is 7116b with 25 games packed in there. That also includes the Input based menu system :Ptongue.gif, this is only temperately. With the additions planned I expect this to be at least 10,000b, but if I add some more games I have been working on to this it may be released at 12,000b. I feel I have optimized this to death and believe it will be fine, and I am happy of the size of the whole program being small.

Well I finished this up, I didn't get to do everything I wanted though. I plan on optimizing it a bit more and adding a game or two, which are not finished yet. I release it now because I am getting tired of working on it, so if I continued working on it I might have not released it :Ptongue.gif. Enjoy, and let me know of any bugs (I coundn't find any) or any suggestions. Thanks!

Title: Multiple Game Pack
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on May 15, 2006, 03:03:00 am
I'm trying it right now

first bug: there is no cursor to select the game, so I had to go in the code and change the Text(6C-9,D,"   part to Text(6C-9,D,"> or something like that :(sad.gif

I only played the first row of games so far

awesome stuff, I am starting getting addicted to the avalanche game i like how it was done ^^

I couldnt play some games tho because I was playing on my bro's 83+ and I had OS 1.14 and since the game use special ascii chars it only works on OS 1.15 or above but now that i upgraded to 1.18 I am loading it on my bro's 83 now

EDIT: kalan i think its not OS 1.14, there is a problem with the file, it is corrupted. Could u group it on your calc, send the group to your computer and send it to me grouped? I'll send the group to my calc and ungroup it so I can try again. I think ti connect and graph link cant send programs using special chars

EDIT: now I am addicted to bombers o.oblink.gif

Well I used it and made them on my 83+SE 1.18, and tried it on my 83+ 1.19. I didn't have any problems, maybe it was just ticonnect for you? Since the program is unlocked could you hit goto and let me know where or what game? Thanks!
